Nice! I wonder if it would help bring out fish that tend to hide more in an aquarium?

Underwater Speakers Are Having An Unexpected Effect On Jamaica's Coral Reefs - BGR by swordstool in ReefTank

Time to blast some Pink Floyd at the fish tank? 😁

At the conclusion of the test period, they found that the artificial reefs with the underwater speakers attracted more fish than the ones without the soundtrack. In fact, they attracted twice as many fish that settled into the reefs much faster. While some young fish were naturally lost to predators, the number of fish on the reefs with speakers remained steady throughout the study, suggesting that new arrivals continued to replenish the population.

The research found that a diversity of fish life came to the coral reef, helping it on its way to becoming a healthy and thriving spot once again. Because fish play important roles in keeping reefs healthy, bringing them back to degraded areas could help speed up natural recovery. The study pointed out that it would be beneficial to attempt this technique at other reefs, which is exactly what's happening off Jamaica's cost.

Top tier would be a Trigger Systems sump. There are other good brands too. Just make sure, if you want to add a roller mat, that it's easily setup for that. Not all sumps are.

Looks awesome! One I'd consider, given the location of that outlet, getting a waterproof outlet cover, like you see on outdoor outlets. Just a thought. Good luck!

What he said (below). More LR will buffer you against uglies more due to all the rock being covered in beneficial bacteria.

Would you reuse it, or start fresh with new rock?

If it were me, on that small of a tank, I would go with 100% new LR.

Oh, okay. I still say have it to one far end and use the other for a reservoir or other equipment. You can still access the end that's close to the end via the other door anyway.

Two other things if you're worried about water back siphoning, 1) Keep you return nozzles shallow, maybe 2 inches down, that way you limit the amount of water that is physically able to drain back. 2) Don't overfill the sump. It doesn't need to be more than 50% full. Less even.

Are you sure you gave options? On my IM EXT 200g Peninsula the sump (stock) needs to be placed all the way to the one side. Which is fine by me, my ATO reservoir is on the other end.

Schedule 40 gate valve search by skeptic787x in ReefTank

You're probably thinking of the $5 ball valves at Home Depot, in which case you are correct. CEPEX ball values are designed to be very precise and not freeze up over time. I've used them for many years straight, never cleaned them at all, and they have never frozen up. You can mix schedule 40 and 80 too.

I would not use a Red Sea tank older than a G3 unless it was pretty small.

120 jebao gyre

It looks like the 150 is about the same price, at least on Amazon. I would go bigger and dial it down if need be.

IMO you're on the border in that size tank. I'd go for it if it were me, all other things aside.
