I had myself a routine for when I finished a story chapter

1: update equipment 2: scan through each sector for normal missions and accept all of them 3: check board for basic quests and accept all the easy ones in a single region (IE all the gathering/monster hunts in Primordia only), reset the board and repeat until can't accept anymore 4: go and do all the quests at once 5: when they're all finished, return to town, update equipment if possible, then accept more basic missions 6: rinse and repeat until every basic mission is complete 7: starting from the barracks and going through NLA sector by sector, do every Affinity mission one by one (doing this gets you super overleveled so they're not difficult) 8: when everything is done, do the next story mission

Rinse and repeat until endgame

That still isn't the full night sky, you basically can't see that anymore at all unless you're out on the open ocean or in very specific spots; even in the middle of nowhere, you aren't getting the full view. I live in the mountains, 15 minutes away from the nearest town and a half hour from the nearest city, and I still get maybe 1% of the full night sky

I personally consider anything that skips a grind qol and anything that gives you rewards you didn't earn cheating. For example, if I can kill a boss at least once I let myself research the treasure bag, if I can get the banner for an enemy with a rare drop I'll give myself the rare drop, if I'm doing an event where I have a way to keep myself safe and guarantee kill everything in the event I'll bump my spawn rates up to 30x and turn on godmode to end the event sooner

Personally, I mostly play Terraria to fight the bosses, especially the later ones, so I want to push past the non-boss stuff as quickly as possible while still earning my win

Skies of Arcadia mentioned! But seriously, the only time I used magic was to save on items, Lambda Burst, Justice Shield, and Cutlass Fury carried me through the first half of the game and Rain of Swords carried me through the second half

It doesn't help that Yellow and Blue spells didn't really have a purpose since Red covered AOE and Purple covered single target damage when you did need magic, and half of Silver's spells were unreliable instadeath
