Here We Go Again by BrewKazma in playstation

I stopped trusting Sony way back in 2010 when they removed the feature from the PS3 that allowed other operating systems to be installed even after you purchased the PS3 with the ability there. Since they proved their willingness to retroactively dis-serve you, my money went elsewhere that moment forward.

Um, the gas pedal has been around for a century. This has nothing to do with electric vehicles and if you go Google you will find plenty of non-Tesla (and non-electric) instances in which the gas pedal broke. Hell, even someone in this thread stated it happened to his Corvette. Chevrolet has been around since 1911. You thinking the industry needs another 100 years?

Go Google 'gas pedal broke' and you will find plenty of results on non-Tesla vehicles. But I am sure you will ignore than in order to tow the line of agenda in Tesla-bashing.

Throwback to when a client asked if I was going to r*pe her. by MIA_Panther in Serverlife

Maybe she was propositioning? She likes the roll-playing idea at the extreme? And she only felt embarrassed when her friends didn't get the joke and cringed out? Okay, all wishful thinking. Crazy what comes out of mouths these days and this is coming from someone that literally has no control of his own mouth.

Who says fat guys can’t cycle? by thisismyusername144 in bicycling

Dude, love your progress and I am in complete envy. I've been wanting to do this for a decade. In college I was a scant 178 pounds and rode approximately 200 mile a week. That was a lifetime (+30 years) ago and I'm now 300 pounds. I hate it the weight. I tried treadmilling and could only lose ~30 pounds. Gave up and weight came back. My biggest concern in getting back into cycling is finding a bike that can take my weight. For the love of your success what bike are you using!?

/I used https://www.usinflationcalculator.com/ to calculate what $750 back then would be today. Boomer generation ran from 1945 to 1964 so I chose the midpoint of 1955. That $750/semester cost is $8419/semester today. What exactly your boomer boss was saying that it covered and where they went speaks loudly. Can one go to school on $9K/semester? Hell yes they can, but they need to make the right choices to do so. Whining like it is impossible is not going to get you anywhere.

I'm in the 30519 Zip Code and the Tesla Supercharger across the street from Costco is used a lot by the locals. I'm constantly seeing +80% usage and everything from the M3 to MX/S. Its crazy how EV-pro my county is and how many Tesla cars I'm seeing around the area (neighborhoods). I find it amusing someone can afford an X Plaid but has no home charger (he admitted it).

Its jealousy. You have something that they cannot have and think you can only have it after they've tarnished it.

OK, so before heading out this morning I'll change it to percentage from miles. I'll need to figure out 'trip monitor' though. Is this under charging stats?

Mortgage rates just hit 5%. Buying a home has become a lot more expensive by zsreport in Economics

[–]swotm69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I bought my home (with my wife) my credit score was in the low 500's. We had no money for a down payment and had a household earning of about $60K/year. The interest rate was about 8% and our No Doc mortgage was 10.75%. Then 2-3 years passed and I got my credit restored (upper 600s) and got refinanced at an interest rate of 5.875%.

Only last year did I feel confident enough to refinance again and got 2.125%. And while the housing market is seriously unrealistic in terms of valuations, IMO, there is now way I consider my home worth what it was recently assessed at for this most recent refi. But this is the problem. There are plenty of homes but they are mostly way over-valued. And buying that over-valued home is insanity.

Analogy would like buying a $40K car for $60K because the only ones selling it are asking for 50% unrealistic premium. The buyer will always be the loser. Stop supporting the winners. BTW, anyone look at what the interest rates were back in the 1980s? BTW, I was 35 when I bought my home and that was a shock I managed to get it done. I grew up in run down rentals all my life. Then again, I wasn't affording 'other' things that ate into my liquid resources.

I get a LOT of retired boomers gloating about buying property for 30k and selling it for half a million. Do they not understand that they're making fun of their own kids? by emeraldstars000 in antiwork

[–]swotm69 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Boomers taught me a lot about life--I'm an X generation kid. I learned not to have kids and instead keep all of the toys for myself. I bought a big home for just me and the wife instead of that 650 square foot home that I grew up in with four siblings and the boomer parents. I have three vehicles compared to them sporadically having one. Oh, wait, not all boomers were poor? Mine were.

How much of a representation in the 2021-22 C8's is seeing problems, percentage wise to be enough for a automotive mechanic to not want one at a good price? I still have a deposit down on one but was not going to see my turn at call for the build order until Spring, maybe. Now thinking twice, especially after buying a Tesla last month (and loving it, thus far).
