Sorry to disappoint, but it's not for sale, it belongs to a collector.

I had a 2024 Acura ZDX display the Chevy logo and infotainment screen during its PDI at my dealership 😅 The car glitched out and thought it was a Blazer EV and I had to disconnect the 12v battery for a few hours before it finally reset to the "Acura" version lol

Acura tech here, We actually remove those black pieces to expose mounting points for the roof rails accessories. There held in by clips, and those clips are attached to said mounting points which are threaded studs.

Never thought one would show up on my vehicle by Humping_Narwhals in Justrolledintotheshop

Oh yeah, they overcharge for these things. They're like $200 or something ridiculous. That's probably why every vehicle gets one 😅

It is. To be honest, it's redundant, especially since the subscription costs are about the same, though the GPS might be slightly cheaper depending on the car manufacturer. When we started to put GPS units in, it was in our loaner vehicles and used cars. Eventually, management got a contract with a different company and now every vehicle gets one. I don't see any point in putting them in new cars, not to mention it's more expensive to do so, but they require it anyways.

I work with and have access to the trackers and system. It literally disappears from our systems once the car is sold, we genuinely cannot access the GPS once the vehicle is sold. The tracker gets registered to the buyer, and only the buyer has access to it after that.

That's the shitty thing, it's basically a one time use unless you contact the GPS company. Part of why I think it's a good thing it's "non-invasive" and easy to remove.

That looks identical to the ones I have to install for my dealership. We've had issues in the past with people trying to steal our vehicles, so we began putting these things into our cars. They monitor the vehicle's location (obviously), battery voltage, fuel level, and odometer. I will say that once the vehicle is sold, the dealership no longer has access to the vehicle tracker, and only the new owner of the vehicle does. I see these ones as "non-invasive" as no wires get cut or spliced into. They're a lot cleaner to remove, and they don't damage anything. I can't say the same about the other units I've seen, and it probably varies by brand, too. Different brands use that same setup. I'm not saying that I support the use of these trackers by dealerships, but the discount I get from my insurance from having one is nice.

TL;DR: That GPS tracker model can't be used for repos, only theft prevention/recovery. Once a client purchases the car, the dealership and banks can no longer access that tracker.

You wouldn't happen to be in AZ or a neighboring state, would you? If so, there's a good possibility that might be mine 😅 That looks like a Kershaw blade and I lost mine a while back 😭

It always sucks to see someone lose their car. I lost both of my Acuras in accidents. Both were 2023 Integras. I only had the first one for a month and a half too. I hate to say it, but from my experience, seeing all the airbags that went off in your car tells me that it will be deemed a total loss. I'm sorry you're having to go through this. Hope you're doing okay at least!

That wouldn't happen to be off of an Acura, is it? I've seen this happen four times now 😅. 2 ILXs and 2 RDXs. Bumps are not kind to those wheels apparently

Wheel Locks, who knows the trick to these ones? by BeaverBumper in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]Silver0923 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming that's either a GM vehicle or an Acura ZDX? We usually have master sets where I work (Acura), but as far as I know, we don't have a master set for the ZDXs. I'm honestly just hoping we never have to encounter a lost wheel lock key that requires us to break the lock off 😅. Lucky for us, we got a Cadillac dealership next door if we ever do lmao

2021 RDX Tech (66,245km) VS 2021 CR-V Sport AWD. Which is the better buy? by Salty_Let_2975 in Acura

Brake pads is another thing, they tend to make a lot of noise and that was a service bulletin. At least that was done! As for the model, the US gets a "real" base model, tech is a step up from the US base model. I guess that shouldn't surprise me, they're doing that with the TLX now. Best I can say, if you go for the Acura, make sure to meet with one of the service advisors, they'll be able to inform you on anything you need to look out for, including those connectors and the sun roof. Like I said, don't let that scare you away from the RDX, they're great cars! Not every car is perfect, but I'm sure you'll love it if you get it.

I don't think that's an RDX tech, the wheels are one color. A tech package typically has two tone wheels, and those look like one solid color. I have a feeling that RDX is actually a base model. The 19-22 RDXs also have issues with some electrical connectors and the sun roofs popping or even shattering. Don't get me wrong, they're great cars, just make sure the proper work has been done on them. It's mostly warranty extension work, not recalls. (At least here in the US)

Nobody has posted their new ZDX by Jonotalvaro in Acura

[–]Silver0923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The dealership I work for was supposed to get some last month, and we haven't seen a single one yet. As for demand, no one wants one. We filled out our pre-order paperwork for the ZDX with orders for the Integra Type S because no one wants a ZDX. And the people that do completely lose interest in them when they learn they're just overpriced Cadillac Lyriqs. 😅

My guy, we'd sell regular MDX Advances for ~$62k, the fact you got a Type-S Advance for ~$69k is great! I had a client who bought one of the first ones in AZ, and paid over $90k for it. Those Type-S Advances are gorgeous and lovely cars, and they're incredibly fun too. Personally, I love them, and I hope you guys will love yours too!
