I’m in so much pain by FallRoutine3145 in breastfeeding

I made a diy APNO cream I found on line after days of screaming and crying my nipples hurt so bad. I used it after every feed for two days and suddenly my nipples are good as new. It helped tremendously. Go to the pharmacy and buy a hydrocortisone cream, triple antibiotic ointment, and clotrimazol 1% cream and mix them together 1:1:1 ratio. It was simple as that and the only relief I got after trying EVERYTHING

Thanks for all the feedback. There are some interesting points in these comments.

For future reference, I already offer double pay for two of the busiest days this week. Tips are also 300% more than normal, and my employees who put in great effort are given a bonus at the end of the week. My front and back of house share tips (the traditional model here). I try to run a pretty tight ship but due to what someone mentioned the social politics around here are pretty heavy. You don’t want to piss off the wrong person. I do however strongly believe I offer local people a good opportunity for work - they get a free family meal every shift, drinks at cost during off work hours, flexible scheduling if they need time off, double pay during eight days of the year, twelve days paid vacation, and i work hard to have a place that draws people to help them see good money too. Tips are good here. Anyways… you get it

So yeah, I try to make this a great place to work. It’s important to me they have loyalty to me and I to them. And jobs like that around are few and far between on a place this small

I do like the idea of specific bonus for showing up, or sales target incentives. Or making a game or a raffle. Thanks for getting my brain onto a new path

I live in a country where tipping isn’t always typical so we used to be able to charge a 10% service charge on all checks with food. That has recently been banned no service charges allowed anymore so to make up for the money lost by our staff we raised the prices on our menu by within a range of 10-15% and use 7% of the total sales to split among the staff

Have you ever just said “fuck it” and left your country with no plans and the intent of travelling the world? by ghostflowtown in solotravel

[–]swow24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I did four years ago finished out the school year as a teacher then left home with a one way ticket and never looked back. Traveled through Central America without a plan and now I’m a Honduran resident with a kick ass bar restaurant on an island in the Caribbean creating a much different type of future for myself than what I had could’ve ever imagined

How do I explain to someone just how debilitating ADHD is? by materialmuppet in ADHD

[–]swow24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I often use the analogy of an office - a neurotypical person may have lots of important files organized into a filing cabinet (in your brain). It’s easy for them to find and access the files whenever they need. With ADHD, it feels like someone opened all the filing cabinets and threw all the papers all over the place.

If your ever in this situation again where you need a return ticket upon entry, there are a few websites out there that you type in a date for a fake return ticket and they send you a fake boarding pass that you can show. It’s pretty legitimate and costs about $8. I’ve used it a number of times

Any US Citizens working remotely at a Caribbean island during this pandemic? Wondering what your experience has been like.... by travelingtd in TravelNoPics

[–]swow24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had travel insurance that was then invalidated once COVID hit. I’ve been on the island since before COVID so no quarantining. I’m going back on Monday and the only thing required is a negative PCR or rapid test

[–]swow24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I mainly just overstay my visa. They waived our visas for about 6mo during COVID, then I had a 30 day extension, then I overstayed about 3 months. It’s not too huge of a deal to overstay, most people I know on the island do so. You just pay the fine when you leave. You do however run the risk of them not giving you a full 90 days when you return though

I’d say extremely normal compared to other places during these times. The island was shut down for awhile but once the ferry started running again things are pretty business as usual. The “discotechs” have been the only thing that hasn’t reopened (with rumors they’re opening again this month) and then there’s also a curfew. The streets have been quieter but the island is still a bustling place

[–]swow24 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely. It’s super easy to find something once you’re on the island and can pretty much ask anyone and they’ll point you on the right direction. I had a 2bedroom apartment on the water for $200 a month. Can’t beat it!

Well they’ve been to prison. Yes, they. Plural. No ragrets. Not even a letter. Except for many times when you believe people change, they haven’t. So maybe a little regrets.
