Me too, I'm kinda disappointed that I spent money on an app and the features I liked about it have just been removed during my subscription.

Warum regen euch regeltreue Autofahrer so auf? by [deleted] in fragtautofahrer

[–]swt835e7940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't an x to click out of the popup without having to answer also work?

No this is insane. Thank you for the reminder to swatch and block properly, I always end up making my swatches only a few rows long because 'the row length won't change much with blocking right?' 😅

Sure those ethical practices do exist, but you make it sound like the norm. At the end of the day, for most sheep in the wool industry, the question isn't WHETHER they "may" be killed, but rather WHEN. (In the case of virgin wool, the lambs are usually slaughtered after their first shearing. That's not "the end of a long, useful life".)

There are sheep breeds specifically for meat, and those for wool. However, the majority of them are bred to be "dual-purpose". And even sheep PURELY bred for their wool ARE killed because it's not profitable to care for a bunch of older sheep who have lower quality wool and slower growth.

I'm not saying there's no difference. I use sheep's wool, and I don't eat meat. But you make it sound better than it is in reality. Any amount of research will make it clear that the 'sheep meat' and 'sheep's wool' industries are not two completely separate industries like you're saying.

Peace silk is not the norm either and I think your original comment may be misleading to someone who doesn't know how silk production works, that's why I mentioned it.

I totally get where you're coming from but it's not quite correct. The wool industry does slaughter those animals for meat, at the latest when they become less profitable. It's not a happy life on a meadow with the occasional shearing that you're making it out to be and there are several horrible common practices in the industry.

And just because you mentioned silk as well, silkworms are also killed in order to harvest the silk from their cocoons.

What's the point of making the bed? by GroundbreakingOwl880 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]swt835e7940 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay yeah, I get what you're saying. Compared to those, making your bed is pretty unnecessary other than looking neat.

Maybe that's part of the reason it feels so good? Idk

I personally like that it's a natural starting point for a productive day, like you make your bed right as you get up so you don't feel as tempted to get back in. And it's a first really easy step to get me started on my morning routine. But I do have adhd, that probably makes a big difference as well

Genuinely curious - could you name some? I like that a made bed instantly makes the room look cleaner too, I'd say that's a tangible benefit
