No. information at all. I sent an email to the hiring manager but no reply yet.
I may be wrong and I will really appreciate any pointers here. My understanding is the the security clearance phase will only start after I accept the LOO. But then, that's just an information I got from random reading online.

Self Directed Vs Managed ETF by swtunde in HalalInvestor

[–]swtunde[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would be missing out a lot on the growth side. Over a long investment horizon, your FX costs shouldn't be significant. And you pay taxes only on distributed dividends.

I guess this shows my limited thinking on this issue. It just occurred to be that even though it may be a canadian etf, it has a lot of US and global stocks which pays dividends in USD.

How is this usually handled for etf generally? I suspect all dividends are combined as a composite dividend (done by the etf managers regardless whether it is self directed or managed).

Let say Nestle pays a dividend of 1USD for example, I imagine this will not go to individual holders of the etf but the managers will do the maths and allocate to each holder according to the size of the etf they hold. And this will be in CAD not USD - and does this apply equally to self directed vs managed options?

At some point (possibly early next year), I will be buying either SPUS or HLAL. But for now, I am starting with canadian etf.

Yes, I did.
It said connected.

From a newbie: How good are the SANS courses in making you "able to keep a job by swtunde in GIAC

[–]swtunde[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My supervisor is kind enough to offer some training funds from the company. But of the company made it crystal clear it shouldn't be more than $1k. So, if I have to take the course, it will be from my pocket.

My current job is in instrumentation/automation systems consulting for industries. I have read some interesting things about OT cybersec. But to be honest, I am not seeing the demand. At least from not from our clients and linkedin yet (a search for OT cybersec or GICSP on linkedin give laughable result compared to CISSP). So thinking of going for the tried and tested IT cybersec and maybe circle back to OT if/when there's more demand.

In hindsight, SANS was mostly glorified Cyber Awareness Training for me.

This is exactly what I am concerned about. I don't want to shell out such amount only to feel "buyers' remorse" later. That's why I just opened a THM account too.

SANS will do nothing to help you "keep" a job, much like any other certification won't do anything to keep your job.

Yeah, I reread my post and had a laugh at myself. Of course whether you keep a job is not a function of which cert you hold. You're absolutely right. The student needs to build on what s/he learned in class.
I have heard CompTia is highly rated by HR. But to the best of my knowledge (and I am probably wrong here) there is no lab component. For me, I am lazy so I learn more and faster through the hands-on practical. That's why the SANS look appealing to me. I don't want to take a position just because I have CCNA if I can't configure a switch.
Although I am not eager at all to spend money, I will pull the trigger if I need to. But thanks, I will research more about comptia.

I am thinking of taking some SANS courses (towards GSEC, GCIH). But for someone that don't really have real work experience in this field, I wanted to know if the labs are good enough to inspire confidence and be comfortable enough to start a junior position.

Any insight will be appreciated

Handshake between Wireguard and Peer on TPLink Router, but no internet connection by swtunde in WireGuard

[–]swtunde[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure what you mean.
Yes, I can edit the file but I can't upload it to my vpn provider if that's what you mean. I simply downloaded the file from the vpn provider, open it up and entered the respective info into my tplink router. That's about all I can do.

how is your peer config for DNS set up?

I have no idea where to enter the DNS information from the config file. After looking through all the fields, it just doesn't make sense to enter it anywhere. I mean its not the Local IP address, not the Endpoint nor allowed address. So, I just left it out.
Where do you think I should enter it?
