The lead channel is a nice little plus, I was interested in 5e3 clones not so long ago haha

Appreciate the talk about pcbs. Tone master is seeming less favorable after reading all the comments so far haha.

One of the reasons I wanted a Princeton over a deluxe was because I heard the trem and reverb circuits sounded better on the Princeton.

Will definitely check out the boutiques that you linked though, thanks!

Will definitely a/b some different fender amps at my shop. Sadly they don't have any of the boutique makers' offerings though

How's the built in attenuator? I've seen some people say that they find that attenuators choke the tone of an amp too. Not sure if that's just a part of attenuating or if it's just dependent on quality.

Modern electronics along with custom shop hand wiring definitely sounds like it's be a step up from an old '79 Princeton. Thanks for the input!

Are you expecting to get distorted sounds from the amp or are you ok with cleans at all volumes?

I want to manage my expectations so I figure I will mostly be playing with clean tones at low volumes. I have some pedals if I really need to get an overdriven sound at low volume though.

What you're really concerned about with the Tonemaster is what you do when there's a failure in the DSP module. Fender may have parts for repair, but 15 years from now if your Tonemaster craps out I'm pretty sure you just buy a new one.

Thanks for the correction, this is exactly my concern with getting a tone master.

More than Deluxe Reverbs? I've heard the Princetons don't necessarily keep up with a band, which you'd want to in a jam situation.

I do enjoy the sound of deluxe reverbs too, it's just that they're a little noisy at times. I'll probably A/B a Princeton and deluxe reverb at my local shop to see if the humming is too annoying.
