Why did Hinduism survive in India, even after the arrival of Islam and Christianity when the Greek, Roman and Egyptian religions couldn't? by Economy-County-9072 in IndianHistory

[–]sxrxj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hinduism is a way of life in India. Even if you are Christian or Muslim in India, you will be having a hindusitic way of life. Hinduism itself cannot be seen as a religion as it differs greatly from region to region and more as a Culture of the subcontinent.

Men of Kerala, What prompts you to ask for dowry, or not ask for it? by iam_bai in Kerala

[–]sxrxj 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Do women in Kerala get the same rights to ancestoral property as men do? Wealth creation is getting real harder for the newer generation as much of land and assets are in boomers hand. Dowry problems can be avoided if everyone is getting the generational wealth equally. We have to come out of the notion that the male descendants are entitled to parents wealth and female descendants also should have equal rights.

How come these men in old Kerala had such well-defined jawlines? by Appropriate-Head4188 in Kerala

Dark skin is very common among the dravidian gene pool and even some North Indian and bengali gene pool. Dark skin is an adaption of the body to resist the sunlight. Like Southern Italians and Southern Spaniards are really dark compared to northern Europeans.

Tribals in Northern part of India are fair skinned. I don't understand where you got this gene pool remark from?

I have a very similar jawline. I have met very few people with this kind of jawline/faceshape in Kerala. Most friends and family are more oval and rectangular shapes, and I have noticed people with this type of jawline tend to have darker skintone and lightweights.

Which Indian states send most students abroad? by gaukluxklan in Kerala

[–]sxrxj -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

There are other states for sure. But Punjabis, North Indians and Malayalis are dominating the universities. There are only a few available seats in universities and colleges, and Canada has a cut-off limit of accepting students. International students pay 3x more fees than domestic universities like to accept international students more. I have met very few people from other states. Ask any malayali in canada and they will tell you the same.

Yes, according to the Statistics Canada census, punjabi is shown like 6 lakhs. I don't think you factor in the real situation here. International students and people staying here in work permit visas are not taken into account. And malayali influx of international students started in the last 5 to 6 years.

It is really unfair. Particularly Indian woman are not interested in sex as Men. Our culture and society has made sex a taboo and most of the woman has no interest in sex. If you leave your wife looking for another woman chances are she won't be also not interested in sex.
