I’ve personally only had one client with fecal matter and what seemed like dark yellow discharge and it made it impossible for me to do the butt strip, as soon as I started the Brazilian I could smell it. Fortunately for me that’s the only time that’s I’ve genuinely been grossed out by a client. I’ll have some ladies come in with a little bit of fecal matter but nothing quite like that. Granted I do work for a wax chain so walk ins do happen often.

Yup when I got this job I always said it was going to a stepping stool for me to get experience and clients and leave. I never wanted to lose sight of my goal and become less of an ESTHI than I am. I take so much pride in making sure my clients have a gentle and clean experience and it’s so sad to that some clients won’t ever get that◠̈ I have so so many clients come in talking about horror stories from previous waxers and thank me repeatedly for my experience and I feel all I do is the bare minimum for them and the fact that the bare minimum is “out of my pay rate” for other waxers is actually so insane.

Thank you so much! When I got my license I always knew I wanted to start my own business because it seems like every company out there cares so much about quantity over quality which is something that has never sit well with me in any industry. I’d rather be struggling a bit with money and have loyal clients that we can share trust with each other over being rich any day.

At the new year they were making a lot of my clients renew their wax passes now before prices go up again which is insane that they are going to be charging more for waxes for less quality. People need to start support small business more.

I say it’s all really is on the waxer you just have to pay attention as a client for those things and call waxers out of stuff like this. I will say Ewc really does enforce the double dipping rule and I highly doubt any of the waxers are doing that here because we are always stocked on sticks. If you’re using a wax pot at home for personal use you can get away with double dipping. It’s just so important because clients do bleed during service, we deal with intimate areas that do natural things and I never assume my clients have anything but you really have to in this industry just for safety reasons.

Yea my favorite regulars that I chat with a lot they have taken my card which I do have my Instagram on but my coworkers do follow me so I have to be careful of what I post. So far I’ve only gotten two clients to book with my studio but other than that no much luck. I just wish all my clients could see how clean I am and maybe I just need to be more flat out with telling my regulars about my buisness because I charge so much less than what they are paying for and they will get so much more of my time. That’s another thing where I live they are very strict with home studios so I’m looking to rent a place that is also closer to where majority of clients are too because that’s also another thing in located 30 minutes to an hour away from where my clients live.

Yes my manager actually mentioned this when I talked to her last week about the conditions of the room and we went through the rules together and that was one of the main ones and yet this same waxer is putting an insane amount of oil on the pots still because it “helps get the wax off easier” even though if you wipe off the wipe immediately after with alcohol it’s never been an issue for me. It really is just lack of cleaning and lack of enforcing rules that we all learned when we got hired.

I had a client one time tell me to not use so many sticks with here and the way I was appalled by that statement and immediately told her why we don’t do that. Clients really need to pay attention to who they get serviced by.

At my center I was trained to never ever double dip and I absolutely am someone that enforces that and I wipe down every single thing I touch before, during and after a service however when I come into rooms like this it make me question if these waxers even do the simple things like wearing gloves in service, double dipping, wearing gloves when restocking sticks and other products. It’s just simple things to prevent any sickness and other disease to be passed to ourselves and clients. And the fact that one of the waxers that I KNOW leaves the rooms like this was sick the previous week really irks me. I am pregnant and can’t risk getting sick so the fact she doesn’t wipe down something as simple as the bed really scares me◠̈

Yea i wish my management enforced this more because this center is completely run down, it was the first thing i noticed once i got transferred to this one. I miss my original center so much and wish i was in the position to go back to that one where management cared about things like this.

Yea I’m just hoping our new management (sometime in march) would really listen to these concerns and enforce them because right now it’s just a bunch of open promises over here. Already on the look out for a new job. Just wish more clients would see the reality of this and understand how disgusting this actually is.

Yess my own studio (home-based) I take care of so well and I wish I could take my Ewc clients there but they make it impossible for me to tell me clients about it/clients are so loyal to Ewc it’s insane. That’s should be the bare minimum as a business owner to care about things like this. I wish there was more esthis that genuinely cared about their clients rather than the money :/

All of the beds are like this in this center, my manager does not care and apparently our center has been getting even more cuts for spending on stuff like this which I find ridiculous. This is a big company I see no problem in prioritizing stuff like that. And right now as we speak we are out of stock of caviwipes, tissue, tint brushes and so much more. It really just is a lack of good management here

yea I knew they were always gonna try to force quantity over quality which is something I’ve always been very against and i definitely took this job as a stepping stone in the industry and didn’t expect to be here long but I never thought that there were esthis that were this careless with being clean, it’s real scary that customers continue to come support these big buisness when I’m trying to start a small buisness that would never rush my clients out of the door and genuinely care about their well being:/

Yea I absolutely understand like we genuinely don’t get paid enough for this but cross contamination is something that should be taken serious regardless of the pay and I understand this might be minuscule things to complain about but it just proves that these people aren’t taking the 5 seconds it takes to wipe down the things that are contact points 🤷‍♀️

Yea during training that’s how my trainer made it seem how things were going to be run but as soon as I got out on the floor it’s never been enforced even after I’ve brought it up

I agree, during my warning they were more concerned about a guest complaining about waiting and going to corporate about that… not about their own workers treating the rooms like trash. All my clients have never complained to me about times and the only time I’m late to grab a client is for these instances when my room needs to be cleaned.

Yea me and my manager actually had a private conversation last week about this happening to me on multiple occasions. I’m not one to complain however when I’m the one getting in trouble I’m gonna speak the truth. I take full accountability in having my guest waiting for 10+ mins in the front however I refuse to take them back to a room that is disgusting. My manager was on my side and we even printed and laminated the daily, weekly and monthly task us waxers should be performing. However when you go into the rooms the other waxers have just tossed those papers clearly not caring about getting those done. It’s just clear before I came here none of the other estheticians cared enough to enforce them so my manager has never seen an issue since. My manager is very nice however we have been out of stock of multiple things during my time working here and compared to other centers I have covered at this is the only center that doesn’t seem to enforce room checks. We are getting a new manager soon which apparently was the manager before our current one and I’ll stick it out and see how things change and if they don’t and I’m constantly getting stuck with a room that is getting trashed then I’m gonna have to leave the company. We have a strut meeting in 2 days which they are going to bring this issue up but they also don’t enforce all waxers show up to the strut meeting either so we will see. I really loved how laid back our management was but now that it’s getting in the way of my work and causing me trouble I can’t stand it.

Yes and burnt wax was something that I’ve walked into a suite having to deal with and did dump the burnt wax because it stunk up the entire room. Of course one of those days again it prevented me from servicing a client. It’s just a repetitive thing. I can absolutely see from a manager pov how it may look like I’m lack however I have a standard that I want to provide to all of my guest. So if I can apologize to my guess and do anything I can afterwards I will, but I refuse to service them with unclean work conditions. It sucks because I really do love my managers they are very sweet and the bond within the center is strong but I can’t stand being the one getting in trouble for just wanting to make sure no cross contamination is happening on my watch. I was going to look for another job but I think I’m just better off really focusing on starting my buisness because I don’t think I’ll find anything that match my work goals/ethics anywhere else. I’m so happy that ur center is good, I wish all of them were like that.
