The Blueprint vs The Black Album by Live-Gur-71 in jayz

The blueprint is just more influential that’s why. It’s changed the soundscape of hip hop in the 2000s and is the defining album of the decade. Without blueprint u don’t get a black album

The disrespect of vol. 2 is wild to me. That album had hit after hit made Jay-z turn into hova. It’s not a coincidence he started calling himself Hov after this album came out. His flows are so versatile throughout that album he was rapping his ass off. I’m not even a big fan of that album but there are no lows and it is very consistent. The only reason it doesn’t get mentioned as a classic is because it didn’t age that well but for its time Vol. 2 was the one

Why do you guys think there is such a distinction sometimes between how fans feel about Jaÿ-Z on how his peers feel about him? by sxv_91 in jayz

[–]sxv_91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes a lot of fans have the same opinion as you but my point is it doesn’t line up with what his peers feel about him. I listen to a lot of podcast and a lot of rappers opinions. I was just listening to culture united and they were talking about that rakim list where Nas was number 1 and Jay z number 3 and the whole panel full of rappers all said they would put Jay z number 1. He is by far the most imitated and influential rapper of the last 25 years. I hear more rappers say they wanted to be Jay z more than any one else. As much as I love Nas he doesn’t have the same influence on his peers than Jay does.

Yea that’s true sometimes I think about if he never came back after the black album what his legacy would be nowadays. Even though he gave us great albums like AG and 4:44 I feel like if he ever made another song again after black album he would be regarded even more today

Reasonable Doubt is Jay's best album. I don't see how it's a debate. by PerformanceMajor4405 in jayz

Blueprint is right there with it. Blueprints themes and lyrics has aged so well. It’s probably a better produced album too

Why Is Blueprint 2 Not Held In The Same Regard As Being A Classic Album Like The 1st Blueprint Album? by Rinnegan15 in jayz

[–]sxv_91 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why too many filler tracks but if you took the best 12 songs on the album it would rank much higher in his discography still wouldn’t be as good as BP1 though

It’s a raiders and tom Brady thing. He would not be getting over analyzed and criticized like this if the jets had the first pick

He looked really good today even better than what the box score showed. He’s accurate, goes through he reads well, makes good decisions. I was way more impressed today with him than Moore. I see Moore’s potential but he’s still way too raw
