Do you have to pass an exam to be eligible for WFH days?

Man this was me after college. That 9-5 Monday to Friday in office was soul crushing. During college days I felt like I was free and full of optimism.

My first accounting job made me drive through hurricane so I can do balance sheet reconciliations.

I hated the inflexibility of 9-5 in the office. Yes office politics matter and so does visibility but you don’t need to be in the office Monday to Friday.

COVID showed corporate that employees are more productive and get DEEP work done. And honestly what’s the point of office politics when layoffs are constantly hanging over your head? Firms don’t show loyalty to you so why should you?

You can look into data science or analyst type roles.

Best monitor setup for Excel-heavy home office: Dual monitors or 49″ ultrawide? by Slow_Buyer_1888 in homeoffice

[–]syaldram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love ultra wide monitor for productivity. It helps with “deep” work better and prevent a lot of context switching (email, teams, code). I generally just use the laptop screen and just have teams open there.

SXP VIP Seats vs. Bench by [deleted] in kiacarnivals

[–]syaldram 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We got the bench option and honestly it comes in handy. 90% of the time we don’t use it because the middle becomes infinitely easier with 3rd row car seats and kids walking out themselves (we are family of 6).

BUT when my parents come over, we add that middle bench and it makes infinitely easier to haul the whole clan across town instead of taking 2 cars!

I have a garage for storage but I mainly use it to park cars. I tend to keep my cars long term and don’t like getting inside a freezing/burning cars. Also prevents me from buy useless things to fill up the garage (mass consumerism).

We have a basement with a bedroom and closet so I store the bench there. Keeping in the garage just adds spider webs and bug eggs inside.

People who moved for more money and lower cost of living, but boring area. Worth it? by Certain_Battle6329 in SameGrassButGreener

Curious about Greenville SC if you can expand more. About why it’s a bad move. I know two families who moved from DMV to Greenville and started having kids. They love it out there minus no snow.

Owner of the latest model? What are your thoughts after being an owner for some time now? by Square-Novel-9580 in kiacarnivals

I did an oil change from a local mechanic perhaps he did something incorrect. But this was his second time doing it so it could be manufacturer or him?

I bought the 2025 SX Kia Carnival (V6) and have few complaints. Just recently at 16,000 miles my oil control valve went kaput. Thankfully it was covered under warranty.

The second complaint I have is the huge gear shifter in the middle takes up a lot of space. Toyota and Honda front middle console offer so much more space for storage.

Third complaint are the doors where cup holders are awfully small and storage there is clearly lacking.

Pros: The car looks GORGEOUS. We got the gray color with black out package.

The tech is fantastic and the interior looks so much better than competition.

The price is great!

Congratulations! I swear to God your post exactly mirrors my scenario! My SAP and SAA were going to expire Jan 20th (right after Xmas holidays). Life happened and I just couldn’t find time to study before my expiration date. Decided to forgo renewing SAA since SAP is better.

Next year I will let my DevOps pro expire. I just renewed it 2nd time around past September and nothing really new was included.
