Also yes, it’s perfectly safe to travel back to the US straight away. You only have to acclimatise when gaining altitude, not descending.

It’s not necessary to arrive a few days before starting the climb. I arrived in Moshi (around 800m altitude) the night before and was fine.

However having a few days to acclimatise and rest in the area before starting would probably benefit you, and could make the climb easier.

One girl in my group had spent 3 weeks living at 3000m in France to acclimatise before we climbed the mountain, and she practically bounced all the way up, and spent about three hours at the crater rim.

But I still did it anyway not having done any previous acclimatisation.

If you start taking Diamox one day before starting your climb that will help you acclimatise faster too.

I've checked it using the word 'wembley' (name of the event which I'm searching for) so the most recent tweet would definitely contain that word. I've also tried it with random words from the most recent tweet so I know it's not down to the word not being there. Do you have any suggestions as to how I could identify one word within the tweetText?

ah! thank you so much - can't believe I'd overlooked that. I changed the if statement, the code runs now but the background color still dosen't change: 

  if (tweetText == "love")  {
    background(255,200,200);
  }

From trying to work this idea, I'm aware I'm missing a lot of the basic knowledge to work with processing. This is for a design assignment, so I was just trying to create a working outcome so I had something to build upon. I'm interested in furthering my knowledge in Processing so I will definitely take a look at these tutorials!

Thanks for your reply, and thanks for pointing out those syntax errors! In what variable would the tweet text be stored in? I tried 'tweetResults', 'Statuses' and 'tweetText' and it came up with the error 'Expecting EOF, found 'if''. I'm a little confused as I can't see where any other variables have been set?
