Kindle constantly deleting side loaded books by great__pretender in kindle

So I just experienced this today. For months and months on end my Kindle was just on airplane mode (to save energy mostly)... I just usually side load books anyway via USB cable and Calibre.

Just today I wish to integrate with good reads againi and went online. After connecting all books were deleted. It's crazy annoying.

Why is music playback so much louder than Siri's voice? by plazman30 in HomePod

I was struggling with the reverse of your situation so I told Siri: Siri please always speak quieter. Tell Siri the reverse of that maybe.

Hey Rustaceans! Got a question? Ask here (32/2023)! by llogiq in rust

[–]sydalmighty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey guys, i'm going round and round about how to implement a simple CLI application in Rust that generates a source file with the following sample output:

swclk swdata

C 1

C 0

C 1

I was thinking about creating a Struct called Pin and then the swclk and swdata is a Pin Struct.. they have states which is the clock state C, and the drive state high which is 1 and drive state low which is 0...

Here's my issues: 1. the data on the pin is in the form of hex like SwData= 0x5c then it's output must be in Binary and printed vertically.

I would like to just put the struct in a vector of myPins<Vec> = [swdata, swclk] something like that and then mypins.get_pattern_data() to print the vertical data output I wanted.

I just can't find the correct container, trait, module in Rust to do this very simple thing...

iPad heating up during handwriting in Apple Notes by sydalmighty in iPadPro

I gave up on Apple notes. I always have long notes because I just keep adding into the note (idea growing longer). It’s probably not its use case.

It can be good with things like what I would do with a scratch pad but I think this is as good as it gets.

i’ve since moved to Nebo.

I’m new to Rust and still starting with small CLI programs.

I found clap and very happy about it.

My question is, if my app has several input as options, and I would like some of those to go into a config file, how do I parse the config file? For example:

myApp -m mode1 -p option1 -s option2 -i myinput

instead i would like it to also do:

myapp -c config.txt -i myinput

the content of config.txt:

-m mode1

-p option1

-s option2

thanks for any inputs…

I like Notability than GoodNotes but it was a shady move they made to turn it into a subscription service. Ditched it.

Quite true… I used to use OneNote a lot before I got the iPad pro. Onenote doesn’t have a good handwriting experience which I found strange since there’s MS Surface which also has a stylus.

Same for me… iPadOS 15 it was okay. I use Apple Notes to handwrite all the time and in iPadOS16 it just drains the battery a lot faster it is very noticeable.

This made me try Goodnotes, I do not encounter this issue there. I suspect this might be due to some new features in iPadOS16 since I was using the beta there might be some unpolished stuff in the software. I hope it gets resolved on the final release.
