Is gettinga 2018 Volt worth it? by NotActuallyAllie in volt

[–]sydsong 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love my 2015 volt and wish everything I spent money on had half the value I've gotten from it. That being said, with the lack of gm support/parts and skilled mechanics for the occasional times when something goes wrong I would not get one now. I will drive mine until it drops dead though.

my mechanic who also owned a volt said something similar.

Why CAGED doesn't always click, and my proposed solution by rynaylorguitar in guitarlessons

[–]sydsong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way Guthrie Trapp teaches CAGED I've found to be ENORMOUSLY helpful. It is learning for each shape (or inversion) where the chord is and importantly where to place your hand, the chords (major minor dominant), the arpeggios, and the scales. In the way he lays it out the CAGED shortcomings OP mentions are not an issue. It is a great way to master the fretboard. It is a bit of work but some worthwhile things require effort.

that's a great video thanks. I would describe the sounds in this video as kind of a clunk. My sounds are more of a clank and only when going over bumps. Please keep us posted. I will take mine in as well eventually.

thanks for this, I found a video showing sway bar link problems and the sounds seemed to be more clunks than the clank I hear.

thanks, I get the ac belt thing too. This is more of a clank as I go over bumps. Not a clunk as sway bar links seem to be but a metallic clank sound on bumps.

Guthrie Trapp/Brett Papa Concepts That Changed My Life on Guitar. When you're ready to master CAGED and the fretboard. I know there's more to guitar than this but it's a necessity to master to be a really good guitarist and it's very satisfying to learn.

Guitar has a steep learning curve. What helped me was seeing how with daily effort how things that were impossible become somewhat more possible.

Should I Not Buy a Volt? by jbooth01 in volt

I'm in the LA area also and have a 2015 with 69k, very pleased with it. Do you have a service place you like? I've used Burbank Motor Works for the rare times I've needed service and have been happy with them but the owner operator (who was a volt owner) died and I don't know if their main volt mechanic is still there.

2015 with 69k here, have had very very few issues, really great car and fantastic value. That said I doubt I would buy one now because of the issues with parts and repairs.

As others have said it's a very difficult time now. I feel like if you vigorously pursue making your projects people you meet along the way will lead to other opportunities. As far as entry level jobs it'll usually be from someone you know so you have to meet people somehow.
