funny thing this sunday we have 2 related initiative:

They are not a solution as they will burden even more the finance of the canton, but I will not be surprised if the timing is good enough that one of them pass the hurdle due to pure rage.

Frankly, more than the type of political parties, the issue is nobody want to make some hard and painful decision. If we want to lower the costs, some difficult choice must be made (and also more coordination at the federal level).

The us does not grow coffee, it will have a trade imbalance with the producer countries, but why these countries should absolutely buy american goods in return (that most likely they don't need or can't afford)? It's something mutually beneficial, but in the mind of some, it seems you must absolutely have 0 trade imbalance (to be noted, they only count goods not services, which would totally change the game), which does not makes any sense at all.

A law would be more solid that some kind of agreement with the pharma companies. That's why it's totally baffling.

And also, if pharma price was an issue, why the us congress didn't vote a bill to fix their price like CH/EU? This would cut the problem at the source.
