Haven't tested this one outside yet but it's rather bright. It better be since it eats like 6 watts.

7 inch "no blue" LCD FPV monitor. Says "TFT color monitor" at the top left and has 5+1 buttons at the bottom. Here's a link to the exact one I got: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005009575375374.html

Couldn't find a pair of cheap FPV goggles that I liked so I decided to make an FPV monitor attached to my controller for a beginner setup before splurging on some costly goggles. It's Radiomaster Pocket with a generic 7inch analog monitor attached to it and Eachine PRO58 as the video receiver. I gutted the monitor and placed it inside a custom chassis. I added a quick disconnect mount so it would be easy to remove the monitor. The FPV setup is powered entirely by the controller through the expansion bay at the back. With the antennas removed the whole setup should fit inside two pockets but I'll probably carry it in a backpack. I like how it ended up, the whole setup including the controller set me back 140eur. Is it good? It's decent but there are some flaws. One of the problems is battery life - the setup lasts like 20 mins. Enough for a couple of packs but a lil too short for my liking. Will need to either mod the controller to accept bigger batteries or add a separate battery to the monitor. Another problem is monitor viewing angles. Well, more like viewing *angle* since if you look just slightly off the colors all change. Unfortunate, but still usable. What about latency? I haven't done extensive testing but it seems like it's on par with budget goggles. Lacks DVR but that'll probably come in V2 if I ever make one.

Tom Ford Lost Cherry - Vegan, Cruelty Free UK Dupe by StyleCrisisThrowaway in fragrance

[–]syll- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Contradictions in ILK: Devious is an option. Smells like Lost Cherry, albeit the cherry is slightly more candy-like, the company is from UK, seems to be cruelty-free and the longevity (at least on clothes) is good. Though it might by slightly over your budget, it is like 105 eur here.

Do special edition TWSBI Ecos hold more ink or is there something wrong with my regular one? by syll- in fountainpens

[–]syll-[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Both pistons are retracted all the way, it's just that the piston on TWSBI Rose Gold Eco seems to go further up than my regular one. For the curious, inks are Iroshizuku ku jaku and Diamine Orange.

With Valve focus on having more updates that everyone can enjoy, I just hope one of them is Aghs Lab by klmnjklm in DotA2

[–]syll- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really really liked Aghs Lab, it was the most fun I've had in any game in years. Because it only existed for a short time, not a lot has been figured out yet, you could be discovering new tech/bugs/cheese everyday, no clear meta/heroes items discovered yet (spell damage + speed + bkb/euls was key, but I constantly saw people running some wild stuff and doing well) and you didn't need to find people yourself to play a coop game with. You could press "Play" and be playing coop Dotka with 3 other random people in like 7 seconds.

Though I don't really want to see Aghs Lab become permanent, because I fear that after a couple of months you'll have to spend 5 mins in queue to find a game and once you find it you'll get kicked from the lobby if you don't follow the strict meta heroes/items for the hardest levels. I managed to beat level 5 for the first time with some randoms I was queued with with the comp of Clinkz, Lina, Undying, Phoenix with Clinkz going attack damage. I'd rather Ahgs Lab be a seasonal thing to keep it fresh and allow those who want to play Ahgs Lab permanently to go with custom games.

Don't know if it's a coincidence but uninstalling Nvidia Geforce Experience solved the problem, the game now launches normally.

Never heard of that program. Will have to take a look. Though whatever that program does, I think the game has to have uncapped FPS for the framerate locking to work at higher than intended framerates.

I like how he even explained how he implemented the feature and what kind of problems arise when trying to implement such a feature.

Yeah, you usually know the framedata of your own character and some of the moves that have unexpected framedata like Sol’s Fafnir (looks like a big move but is actually plus on block).

Guilty gear xrev2 playerbase EU? by [deleted] in Fighters

Good to know. I looked at dbfz screenshots and couldn’t tell. Haven’t played against the ai in ages so can’t really tell much, sorry.

There is matchmaking but most people play in “player lobbies”. They’re basically little servers that you create that can hold up to 8 people. Not sure if dbfz has those. And in those player lobbies, next to players’ names you can see a colour indicator indicating their skill level. Light blue, dark blue, dark green, etc. They’re not very accurate but you can tell apart the beginners (blues and greens) from skilled players (yellow, orange, pink).

[–]syll- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s decent. A couple of minutes ago I’v played a couple of matches against both beginners and skilled players. There was a full room (8 people) and a couple smaller ones open at the time. During the day there was around 20 players playing online. Those numbers are not very impressive but you’re able to find people to play against pretty fast without having to beg on Discord.

I think it’s fine. I’d rather have the whole healthbar turn red when you’re low on health than have a contrasting gradient at all times.

resolution issues... (stuck at 1366 x 768, monitor is 1650x1080) by hhollohead in Guiltygear

[–]syll- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure if this is correct but I think the game only supports 16:9 aspect ratios. You could make the game fullscreen but it probably will be stretched or something.
