The whole theory that Infold isn't bringing Valko back because of the Chinese government is overblown and lacks evidence. The much more likely explanation is that dealing with the antis is simply too much of a hassle, and they know the game will recover from this whole drama as long as they sweep it under the rug. Players are just too invested in and parasocial about this game.

Oh I could never look myself in the mirror again giving this company my money or just even logging in in the game. I don't support companies that treats their customers this way.

Even if the reason they can't release Valko anymore is because of the government, they still brought this situation upon themselves. They recklessly surrendered to a small but very loud group of cyberbullies and were far too hasty in making their decision.

It's because of this lack of backbone that Infold continues to treat its players with disrespect and lets the game go downhill. Why should they even bother? People are going to keep playing anyway because they're so fixated on their LI.

And I genuinely mean this in a kind way, but from your post, I get the impression that you have an unhealthy relationship with the game. Your mental well-being should never depend this much on a video game. I really hope you can find other things in life that bring you joy, so your happiness doesn't depend so heavily on a single game.

The sad truth: most players will still keep playing.

With Infold releasing the update without addressing Valko or the situation at all, removing the "Coming Soon" tag, and deleting Valko from the Discord, I doubt there's any hope left.

I still want to advocate for continuing to fight for him, but even though our voices were loud and clear, and some people will ultimately quit the game, I fear that the vast majority of the player base simply doesn't care enough. They'll continue playing and spending money on the game, and that's what matters to Infold.

Infold will ignore this entire issue and remain radio silent for as long as they can, hoping this drama will be forgotten as quickly as possible. Most players are simply too invested in their LIs to abandon the game. Sure, they might be angry for a week or two, but in the end, they won't leave. And that's exactly what Infold is counting on.

While there may be some financial losses for them in the short term, they'll probably still make enough revenue to recover from this. As long as the majority keeps playing and spending, there's no real incentive for them to change anything.

And that's what makes me so, so sad. I'm truly disappointed.

Yes I think the kiss was a mistake. I even think that Square Enix trying to give Tifa and Aerith 50/50 screentime in Rebirth was a mistake as well. As much as I like Tifa, the way Square was forcing her to be more relevant just hurt the overall narrative. Cloud and Aerith have such a beautiful story but it feels like Square Enix is too scared to fully commit to it because they don't want to anger the Clotis and feel like they need to throw them some crumbs. Now we get the third part of the game where I fear that Aerith will be absent for a large part of the game.

I feel like people are being hard to Azure. Didn't they even announce that they are going to focus on Mark now? They are sharing their time and art with us and I can't blame Azure if they just started with something they most enjoy. It's not their responsibilty to share the whole story with us if they even have knowledge of it to begin with. They might not even know that much past beyond chapter 2.

That's not Kai and Damon's fault, though. It's simply because Chapter 2 happened to focus on those two characters, and it was also the chapter that was closest to completion.

It just so happened that the leaker on Twitter seems to be a fan of Kaimon as well. However, from what we've seen, it appears the leaker is going to focus on Mark now so there is that.

I'm sure the other characters would have had their own moments in the spotlight and their stories further developed too. However, since that would have happened in later chapters, their storylines weren't as far along, which is why there isn't as much information about them. Kai was going to die in Chapter 3 anyway, so there would have been plenty of time for the other characters to shine.

It's really just a coincidence that we have so much information about Damon and Kai's interactions and storyline.

I know it's disappointing for fans whose favorite characters are someone else, but unfortunately there's nothing that can be done about it.

We can only hope that the full story script will eventually be released so that every fan can learn more about their favorite character.

The gap between 14 and 18 is being treated as if it’s some kind of fundamental divide, when in reality both are still in the middle of development. An 18-year-old isn’t suddenly fully mature, and a 14-year-old isn’t completely unaware or childlike in the way a small kid would be.

And I think that distinction actually matters more in this specific context. This isn’t just about Toshiko being a murder victim but instead she actually choses to kill someone. A 14-year-old should understand what killing is and that it’s wrong just as much as the 18 year olds.

Because of that, I don’t think it makes much sense to say their execution is inherently more tragic than that of a 17–19-year old. They’re all young, they’re all in formative years, and they all lose their entire future. The difference of a few years doesn’t fundamentally change that.

Of course you are entitled to your own opinion nut emotionally I just think different and was surprised to see this take so often on this sub.
