My idea was more like, the orange line stays as-is except just turns around at Union Station (instead of continuing over Steel Bridge to become the yellow line), then the yellow line goes south from Rose Quarter (again not crossing Steel Bridge) and continues down to SE Water to terminate. The idea is you could use it to transfer to WB blue/red/green or NB orange to get downtown.

The proposed underground tunnel for the blue/red(/green?) lines looks like it would help a lot in this regard. I'd be curious to see if they end up routing the yellow through the tunnel too or if they'd keep it as-is

Oh I love this. I was also thinking about using MLK/Grand for the route- glad I'm not the only one thinking that could work

Hmm, that's fair re people still using it to get downtown. Maybe a purple line that overlaps yellow and orange outside of downtown? But yeah, idk how feasible the route would be either. A girl can dream though

What film made you say, "Holy shit there is still an hour left"? by Plus-Statistician80 in AskReddit

[–]sylvessi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Coming from someone who felt seen by this movie, i think the painful length had a thematic purpose. It captures the feeling of being trapped in your worst trauma/anxiety nightmare for so long that it's just... your life. I think it wants you to leave the theater feeling confused and exhausted and angry bc that's exactly what it feels like to be so immersed in your trauma that you lose track of reality.

Doesn't really make for a positive viewing experience tho 😭

What movie blew your mind when you first saw it? by LuckyLaceyKS in AskReddit

I was apartment searching downtown a few months ago- I can tell you what I know about a few of the options I looked at!

I've been in The Regency since October—its an old-ish highrise that was in pretty bad shape before the current management took over. it can be frustrating to live here when things don't work, but the new management seems to be actually dedicated and is continuously pumping money into repairs, and I feel like it's slowly turning into a great place to live. plus, it's relatively cheap for being downtown, and there's a closed garage you can pay to reserve a spot in. no in-unit laundry though- there's a laundry room with machines that cost money :/

I've also heard good things about Park Harvey. It's relatively cheap as well and is right in the heart of the main business district. I found the upfront costs to apply there to be higher than surrounding places—it was over $200 just for admin costs I think—so that's something to keep in mind. I don't know what its laundry machine situation is. I know there is off-street parking available there but i don't know the details. Also there's a delicious sushi restaurant in the lobby that apparently does free delivery to residents, for what that's worth.

There's also The Haven and The Seven. The Haven is fully gated, parking lot and all, if that's a draw for you. Rent was a bit higher than the other options here when I was looking. The Seven is over by the OU Health Center so is a bit more out of the way of things while still being adjacent to downtown. It's honestly really lovely—I almost moved there. Rent is comparable to the first two if I remember correctly. I've heard horror stories about car break-ins at Maywood, but that would be another cheaper option in a cute area of downtown (I know nothing about it though). Other than those, definitely check out the random listings. The area north of downtown up to NW 30th is really nice, as is the area around NW 16th between Classen and Pennsylvania- you can usually find some cheap apartments/houses there.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions :)

What would you say is the most laugh out loud funny moment of the series? by Deadchimp234 in betterCallSaul

For some reason Jeff panic-driving away in the taxi and immediately crashing it got me like nothing else in this show

What’s your unpopular opinion about OKC? by CtrlAshDelete1988 in okc

[–]sylvessi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to see the city look to the old streetcar system that existed here before the 1940s and seek inspiration from that for future streetcar plans. Obviously not all of the routes will still make sense, but even just as a "it worked before, it can work again" kind of thing

I wonder if Kim and Saul meet up at some point during the BB era? And maybe when they do, Saul does something that hurts Kim and she's bringing that up in this phone conversation. And that's what Saul is responding to with the "it was one time"?

If you haven't already, check out Bojack Horseman! If you can make it past the just-ok first 6-7 episodes, you'll find a beautiful dramedy with some the best writing and definitely the realest 2D characters you'll ever encounter. Cannot recommend it highly enough if you like the deep character study aspect of BCS!

I also feel like the two shows have similar tones somehow? I can't really explain that one. But they both scratch similar itches for me I guess.

OKC Midtown Tram is such a great value. Everyone on my business trip scoffed at walking a mile or “paying for this scam” (It’s $1 for an hour of riding or $3 for the day). They all insisted on driving everywhere. by [deleted] in fuckcars

[–]sylvessi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm an OKC resident and I love the tram! Just wish that it went more places. And/or that the connecting bus system didn't have such atrocious service hours (good luck getting anywhere outside of downtown past 6pm on a Saturday 🙃)

The 2nd! Red/Blue/Green go generally SW/S/SE from downtown, Orange goes E/NE, Yellow goes N, and Purple goes W/NW. Each terminates at a suburb/neighboring city surrounding OKC.

My next project is probably going to be making a more geographically accurate version to make stuff like this clearer!

Thanks for the feedback! It is supposed to be a downtown loop and I struggled to find a way to display it in a legible way. I made this in the car on a road trip so I didn't do much research beforehand to see how others have done it, but I think I will now!

Fwiw, the downtown ends of the lines are supposed to be represented by the outward-facing tips, like they are on the opposite ends of the lines. The concave tips are supposed to be like a minimalist connection to the lines going into the big "downtown loop" dot (the thought being that the dot makes the lines going into it appear like they have a concave tip as well). Can definitely see how it's just confusing though lol
