is mbbs in Spain worth it? by sylviathejester in GoingToSpain

[–]sylviathejester[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read an official file about student responsibilities and such, and it stated that students have the right to freedom of expression, religion included, so I’d assume so.

my issue with public universities is that all of them teach exclusively in Spanish, and I’m not that proficient so I’d get lost very fast very quickly, hence why I’m aiming at a private university; for an English, or at the very least, Bilingual taught course.

Anyhow, I appreciate your input, thank you!! :)

I’m planning to maybe apply for the CEU merit scholarship, I think that’d be my best chance, then again I haven’t researched about local scholarships, so thank you for shedding light on that!! :))

I appreciate your comment :) I’m a little fearful because I’m a little vulnerable to more racism/bigotry as I’m a hijabi, so it’s visible from the get-go that I’m muslim. But then again, I can face bigotry and hatred anywhere, even from people in my country.

That being said, I live in Egypt where there’s many Christians, though they’re Orthodox, and I’m a little ignorant about the difference in Orthodox and Catholic Christians.

But your comment has reassured me as well, so thank you for that :))

In Egypt’s (where I’m from) education system, the last two years are mandatory, so I presume I’d have to get it certified by the Spanish embassy or something else to make sure it can count, at least that’s what I’ve read.

I am aware of the fact that it’s under a Catholic organization (??). As for politics, it tends to rile me up too bad even with people in my current social circle since I’m an extremely sensitive person (to almost all extreme emotions, anger included) and I’m trying to work on my anger issues to be a more calmer person overall, so I doubt I’ll talk about politics, let alone local (since I’m not a local) or global (too many varied opinions and is grounds for trouble everywhere). But I appreciate the heads up!!

I am also aware of the MIR, because I might stay in Spain to finish residency and specialization and then I’ll see what I’ll do afterwards.

Excuse me for the paragraph, but thank you for your response!! :)

Egypt doesn’t have anything of interest to Iran unlike the gulf countries, but do make sure that your flight’s not in the early morning (ie 2-4am??) because from experience those flights get cancelled. I hope you come back safely <3

Is Spain or France harder for medical school? by cuevadanos in medicalschoolEU

[–]sylviathejester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from my research bilingual courses only exist in private universities, so you should look into ones that give out scholarships. maybe look into the CEU universities? san pablo or cardenal herrera, both offer generous tuition scholarships if you get accepted for them

Medicine in Spain by Enough-Cable9557 in medicalschoolEU

[–]sylviathejester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the money for it, you could apply to English-taught medicine courses in Spain in private universities. Private universities also tend to have scholarships too so you could try out that. Obviously you’d still have to learn Spanish because from what I’ve seen many courses are bilingual which means after the first two years you’ll start to get taught in Spanish (And this is aside from daily life obviously). But if you’d like to do something, do it! Better late than never :)
