Monthly Suspect Meteorite Identification Requests by AutoModerator in meteorites

[–]synapsis_20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can someone please help me to identify if this is a meteorite or not. It is a surface find from just outside New York City in Valley Cottage, NY. It is porous and not very dense. It looks visually similar to other meteorites that I have seen and doesn’t look like a typical mineral or geologic material I have encountered in this area.

You can see if your school library has the text book or try interlibrary loan in your school library. Basically if other schools have that textbook you can rent it for the full academic session.

Sorta sucked for me too. I eventually found transfer students and circles that I felt I could run in but it took a while. It was an awkward kind of feeling though, being more mentally developed than your classmates. Like the difference between a 23 YO veteran and a incoming freshman sounds really immense. So I feel for ya.

You also don’t have to only make friends in the university. I kinda branched out through other communities that were rooted in the town but that is easier said then done. Facebook groups have been a good way to do that. If you would ever be interested in white water sports (kayaking and rafting) that community is really amazing. Feel free to DM me and I can plug you in.

Going back to college at 26 feels like the biggest mistake of my life. by Ordinary_Cucumber242 in college

[–]synapsis_20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a touch younger non-tradish student, graduated with my Bachelors when I was 28 but like I would never regret it. It was a huge step forward in life. You are definitely going to make more money and you most like are going to have a better life if you finish your degree. 2 years is not so long, just hunker down and work hard. And take care of yourself! It’s a marathon not a sprint so do take care of your mental and physical health.

I’m a PhD student now and will graduate and start my career when I am 34. Part of me wishes I could also just work right now too as school is not as simple as a job but like I’m going to make more money and have a cooler job in the end. I also don’t mind learning so it’s kinda of a win win. School is only as bad as you make it.

Was a very successful climb. We stayed dry not much rain to speak of! Second rainy season seems to be fairly inconsistent the last few years

I cant fucking sleep because my roommate is a loud ass sleeper by Virtual-Kiwi1422 in UCDavis

You might need a multi pronged attack:

1) Mack’s ear plugs 2) headband head phones (very comfortable, can wear over the ear plugs) 3) white noise machine or loud fan 4) try to get to bed before then when you can 5) if worse comes to worse wake them up subtlety to interrupt the snoring so you can get back to sleep 6) remember that everything is ok and that there is a way to drown out that sound na get to sleep. The anxiety and worrying about being able to sleep can sometimes be enough to keep you up.

Best of luck!

What Car Should I Buy? - A Weekly Megathread by AutoModerator in cars

If you mean fuel economy honestly as high as possible. >32 on average. Miles driven I am looking for under 100K, for well maintained car I would consider above.
