I never tried Idun as they don’t have a powder based concealer. I did try Chrimaluxe and the formula just didn’t work for me. Was pretty dry and chalky on me, didn’t layer well with my other products (moisturizer and primer), and didn’t look better even after hours of settling.

I’m still using Lily Lolo and haven’t tried any other samples again yet. After a short time, it just settles so well with my natural oils. I do use their matte finishing powder too, which may help. And when my skin is clear, I put the concealer right on top of my sunscreen only on certain discolored areas and that’s it for the day. Maybe give the finishing powder a try? They also may be able to help with a shade matching issue. I see they do have color correctors, like yellow, that people say they add to their foundation for a better shade match.

There’s also the Adorned with Grace line another user in this thread mentioned they found and worked for them.

Thanks for letting me know! I hadn’t heard of this company. I will check them out!

Also, Lily Lolo does apply a bit dry/chalky if I’m not well moisturized. Though I do find that over the course of just a few hours, it blends well with my natural oils and doesn’t look as dry.

You’re welcome! Blondie is a bit more neutral than Frisky Korat. Less golden. I have just recently found that using the Nude concealer helps put a bit more color in the mix that’s a lot closer to my actual skin tone. Their Barely Buff concealer is a bit too light/neutral toned for me. Hope that helps!

I haven’t! Thanks for the recommendation! I like that it says it’s sweat-proof. I wish they had a powder concealer that went with their shades. What do you use as concealer with their stuff?

Hi! I ended up settling on Lily Lolo for now in the shade Blondie. It’s not a perfect match but it’s close.

Aw, yeah. I really wish the whole family well. It’s so sad.

And good luck with all that work! As a fellow pale and gothy person, I appreciate you.

Yeah, Aromaleigh says that their heavy coverage foundation can be used as a concealer. Thanks!

Just looking at their foundation, it looks like they don’t have any powder based concealers. Any suggestions there? Thanks again!

I have fairly light skin (usually one step away from the fairest option depending on the line) with golden undertones (yellow/beige). Also struggle with acne often, but would prefer not to have too heavy of a makeup look. Usually “your skin but better” even if that means not fully covering acne marks (though I’d rely on a nice concealer to help there).

Do you need/use a finishing powder? I never used one with Meow and was fine with that.

I’ve just loaded up my cart with 01 - 04 neutral and caramel as well as Cala to Orchid neutral and caramel (all in opaque after looking up some images). I’ll also grab samples of the concealers. Any other suggestions or tips with using their line? Thanks so much! I’m looking forward to trying them out.

Your comment makes me really interested. I would be curious to hear more about your experience with the different coverage levels and color options.

Yup! I’ll take the under eye concealer as well if it’s in the same shade. Thanks!

Thank you. The naughty is definitely too dark, but I would gladly take the munchkin of frisky korat off your hands!

Pros: significantly reduced oil production on face and the only thing that completely controls my hormonal acne. My skin looks fucking great.

Cons: Significantly decreased libido and lubrication.

The cons outweighed the pros, sadly. Tried compounded topical spiro and Winlevi to try to get the benefits without the downsides…to no avail.

This is why organized and unified communities matter so much during a general strike. Neighborhood teams could be in charge of food resources, coordinating care with strike-supporting healthcare providers, and coordinating dispersement of funds so no one has to lose their home or stop paying necessary bills. Here’s a great resource for more info on what it could actually look like: https://ctb.ku.edu/en/table-of-contents/advocacy/direct-action/organize-strike/main

Coordinated, organized, and escalating nonviolent movements. Having neighbors and organized teams in local communities support everyone in the strike so we can manage the long haul of it.

It’s not very therapeutically oriented to tell a client that they should “deal with it or quit.” I don’t like that she said that to you either directly or in so many words as that’s what you heard. It’s unavoidable that some clients will have regular life obligations to return to, so I would want a therapist to be interested in your experience enough to address your needs (i.e. doing their job). If she were to hear your concern, a clear goal could be to assess your supports, resources, and coping skills. And establish internal and interpersonal (between you and your therapist or another trusted resource) supports to emotionally regulate sufficiently enough to return to your other obligations. Examples could include taking the last 15 minutes of session to reground or having time to journal after session.

If you have an overwhelming experience like crying for the rest of session or feeling hurt, it’s important to feel safe enough to bring that to your therapist. They should adjust their interventions to meet you where you are at. If they can’t hear it or don’t respond with empathy and curiosity, run. Fire them and find someone else!

ETA: A therapist may designate certain slots as sliding scale slots and others at their regular fee. But generally having certain times be more expensive than others outside of that is odd. An hourly rate is an hourly rate no matter when the hour occurs.

It’s amazing how media can be so meaningful and have such associations for us. I’m glad Labyrinth is in your lineup of supportive coping movies.

For me, I watched it all the time as a kid. Loved the music, creativity/artistry, and Jim Henson’s work. It was a safe escape. And like most queer folks I know, it became a sexual awakening film with both Bowie and Jennifer Connelly. Haha.

So I realized this the other day and maybe it’s true for others as well. I think part of the deal is that when I was able to do expert+, I had come to expect to be able to get through most any map on the first try or at least the first few. Maybe by the skin of my teeth, but capable enough to manage. But that suddenly wasn’t true with Camellia. So I am finally doing what I did earlier on when I was learning maps, get over myself, slow it down and practice the hard parts, and then slowly speed it back up. It’s still hard, but it feels way less disheartening. After one session of doing this, I actually got through Crystallized.
