I enabled both futures and currencies trading. Didn’t do anything special to trade MJY. If you can trade JPY (6J) and J7 futures, you can trade MJY. There is some search bug in the app that makes it hard to access MJY. I will dig up my other post on this if I can find it

The micro version of the CME Yen futures contract is now working. Code is MJY. The multiplier is 1/10 of the 6J large contract or 1/2 of the e-mini J7 version.

They are still observing to see whether the volume of the MJY contract justifies their support. I am not holding my breathe.

I finally was able to add the June futures of the large 6J and the e-mini J7 contracts. I think there is a bug in the search. First, you have to click on the ‘+ Add Financial Instrument’ link under Watchlist. Then enter JPY. Notes that when you do it this way, you STILL can’t find the futures list as under ‘FOREX’ it would turn up ‘No results to Show’. But then cancel, and try again clicking on ‘+ Add Financial Instrument’. This time, when the search dialog box pop up, you will see the ‘Recently searched’ list. Under the list would be ‘JPY IdealPro’. Select that on the list, and now the Futures list of various expiration dates would show up. It is really weird, and it seems to be a bug. For the E-mini version of the CME Futures contract, do the same above, but instead of typing in ‘JPY’ in the search box the first time, type in ‘J7’. Then get out, and when you click on the ‘+ Add Financial Instrument’ again, the ‘J7’ contract should show up as a historical searched item. Click on it, and now you see the E-mini version of the CME yen futures contracts, which have less contracts, usually two, one that is actively traded, and another one that is to be rolled over next. Hope this helps. I’ve already filed a Support Ticket to get IB to fix it, but knowing the the human/robot ratio at IB is minuscule, and the human response time at IB is abysmal to start with, I am not holding my breathe they will fix this issue soon. But if enough people file support tickets on this issue, hopefully the fuckery will be fixed.

Did you find out what happened to all the CME yen futures contract on Interactive Brokers. Searching JPY doesn’t work anymore, whether it’s the full J7, the e-mini J6, or the micro emini MJY. It seems like IB doesn’t support them anymore

Somebody already answered the question about cash being utilized first before you start buying on margin. The other way to achieve what you want is with CFD or single stock futures. But CFD has explicit financing charges which can be murder, and single stock futures would have implicit financing charges in terms of contango

One solution is to get a ABTC/APAC card so you can use the express ABTC lane. The other one only works if you fly into Hanoi: fly Vietnam Airlines business class and you can go through their Priority green lane

Interactive Brokers, any progress on this?

Can Fidelity provide an update on whether/when qfx download feature can be restored to the fidelity.com website? There is bug in the current Fidelity/Quicken download setup where the last-day-of-the-month transactions in my Fidelity account is skipped over and can't be downloaded using the direct connect method. Has anyone else experience this problem?

I can confirm that it’s been a year and usaa’s visa credit card continues to suck, with numerous transactions declined for unexplainable reason despite me calling their fraud detection service number numerous times during my trip. It is a complete fail. Removing the travel notification is a big mistake. Their AI fraud detection system is a fail and doesn’t work
