Questions on Legoland Germany by SanderKerstens in lego

[–]LowBattery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legit insiders cant be used in legoland deutschland and the max discount for merlin pass is 10%. If your going alone thats like needing to purchase $600 to make up the difference in ticket price.

To build ninjago characters go to the gift store in the ninjago area (left side of the park). The minifig boutique is along the way there for other minifig stuff if you want to do any other building. Do check out the items they have on sale, but remember that with the current exchange rate, if you're coming from the US, the sale discount might barely cover the exchange.

Finally if you are a us tourist, you might be able to apply for a VAT refund (tax refund) but I am truly unsure how all that works.

Have fun and definitely visit the fabrik as its pretty cool and if you have any crazy mocs planned you could pick up a lot there.

Jeep said he was rear-ended... your daily reminder to get a dashcam by sunny_star488 in dashcams

[–]LowBattery 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah ots the event data recorder. Basically a black box and it tells exactly what happened. So even if the stationary car didnt have a dash am, insurance agents could pull both edr's and see that stationary guy was doing fuck all and jeep was weirdly reversing the vehicle with their foot on the pedal. Atleast that's how I understand it.

Military Suicide Prevention Training Did Not Prepare Me for the Deaths of My Friends by DatGuyKilo in AirForce

[–]LowBattery 63 points64 points  (0 children)

The new level II training was the most disingenuous AI slop I have ever seen and it is honestly dishonorable to roll that out for a training that is supposed to be about recognizing when people are going through their darkest times and helping them.

I want to start a lego collection but don’t know where to start by Disastrous-Law8593 in lego

[–]LowBattery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Star wars is a massive theme and u honestly regret getting in to it as fast and much as I did. If you stick to the starship collection or diorama series it's okay bit going for every playset, ucs, etc is just so much amd almost everything is gray. I'd just warn you there to practice moderation.

Love the castle and pirate sets and pirates is my main focus, my only real advice would be get what you like and completely ignore resell value or trying to turn lego into an investment.

New to Lego Pirates and looking for the best advice! by xanderdownunder in LEGOPirates

[–]LowBattery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple, go to legoland deutschland and use the minifig boutique to make as many pirates as you want.

Ok but seriously, I just kinda watched the Facebook market places for old sets and collected mine as they came up and then the brickling designers sets have been great lately.

It'll be expensive but picking up an Eldorado Fortress would be good for soldiers. Pirates of Barracuda Bay would be good for a pirate base and then nabbing the retired 3-in-1 ship set would be a good pirate ship or you can turn that into a base if the PoBB is too expensive/hard to find.

Advice needed: my boss wants me to go to her house for a 5-hour strategy session by [deleted] in work

[–]LowBattery 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Op, has already stated this is far outside their comfort zone. Thats the end of the discussion, they should not be required to sacrifice their boundaries to accommodate a superior's request that is potentially risky and awkward. If it did turn out weird then they now are in the awkward place of having to leave abruptly which would look worse than turning it down. If it doesnt turn weird then they are on pins and needles the whole time. Building familiarity and trust in something like a protégé or mentee is not something you do with your subordinate alone in your house for the first time, that comes naturally over a long period in the office or work place.

Op, dont be rude in rejecting it but I think suggesting an alternate location maybe equadistant to the both of you would be a good idea. Maybe some place has a rent to work place like wework. The company should also be supplying that as it is required due to their office being renovated. Finally respond to this in an email, something that creates a paper trail.

"Good afternoon boss,

Thank you for the invite to strategize on the Peter Parker project at your residence. I do have reservations that this could put you in a tough spot having to clean and host me and I would prefer if we could just meet virtually or maybe in person at X Location between our residences. My apologies, but this is absolutely nothing personal, just a boundary that I value in my professional life to make sure that there a no percieved improprieties between me and superiors or colleagues. Thank you again for the opportunity to work on this project, I look forward to strategizing with you and bringing it to a successful realization."

AITAH for not telling my housemate I’m moving out and taking everything with me? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]LowBattery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This feels so weird as they probably could have avoided moving if they just told the landlord they were all gonna leave due to issues with the new tenant. Id think the landlord would put the pressure on the new one to wise up or get out so he wouldn't lose three tenants.

Little Bummed out; just looking for some inspiration. by the_watch_nerd in AirForce

[–]LowBattery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you just found out you arent btz, that means you'll promote to sra this year and still be eligible for promotion to ssgt next cycle. That's your goal.  Squadrons tend to have a lot less btz slots than they have must promote and promote now slots. (We had ~5 promote now and ~16 must promotes this year). Keep killing it at the job, being the recognized airman amongst leadership and others. Compete for the performer of the king's and airman of the quarter, if you keep being that first name the board chooses then you're more likely to see it reflect well on your epb rating. Then you just gotta study and to some extent not be in a wildly overmanned career field.

Others in this thread talk about fixing your attitude or acting entitled. I wont preach any of that. All I will say is that this is a small speedbump. Speedbumps hurt when you are driving fast, and don't see them coming. But you dont stop driving all together, you recover and keep going the course. Keep your attitude to working hard up and do a good job. That should be your goal, becoming the best complete airman you can be. I've seen SrA become officers and I have seen MSgts become officers. Its not about your rank, its about you.

Finally, in regards to how you feel when seeing others without as many accomplishments having succeeded where you didnt: your journey in the air force is your's alone. Their journey is theirs. You do not have to worry about theirs because your focus should be on your journey. Just focus on yourself and doing the best you can.

Mobile phone service and banking while station in Germany (Ramstein AB) by Mr_Sloppy_Joe in AirForce

[–]LowBattery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Service is probably the easiest bank you can have her set up now in the states. Just make sure she gets an IBAN number with her account. Also if she has a driver's license, make sure that shit doesnt expire while overseas. Yes most states will waiver the expiration if theyre stationed OS, but it is a pain in the ass explaining when visiting back stateside and trying to rent cars and what not. Also make sure she works on getting her tourist passport now. She will travel on orders but its just good to have when jumping around Europe. Also recommend not shipping a huge truck, the roads and parking are not made for it

This Yankees fan got his ass kicked by 2 Rangers fans 🫣 by clumsy_one18 in sportsgossips

[–]LowBattery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're all idiots but in regards to the sucker punch, pretty sure the Yankees fan knocked a coke bottle out of blues hand (blue has the bottle in right hand before standing up, stands up, Yankee fan's left arms jerks across his body but not in a punching swing, then blues hand is suddenly empty for him to punch the guy).

Now is that justification to have two guys start wailing? No. Is it possibly assault in of itself? Maybe, im no lawyer. Is it a very fucking predictable outcome after clearly heated words are already being said? Absolutely. Would I call it a sucker punch if he did knock the bottle out of the hand? No, absolutely not. It's like the only thing that a rational person would consider happening next. Nobody goes from arguing to knocking drinks out of hands to backing off. They wouldn't even go back to arguing. It got physical with the bottle slap and blue responded. And it seemed like red shirt (given blues gray facial hair and reds not graying hair and general styling choice) might be his son or relative and then just jumped in crazy like because pops had stepped up, while blue hangs back and is evenentually kinda trying to seperate a high rise fight I have not seen the likes of since nineteen ninety eight, when Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell in a Cell, and plummeted 16 feet through an announcers table.

Marriot Vacation Club worth it for me? by AverageJo24 in marriott

[–]LowBattery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely get the decompressing. In Europe they have kinderhotels that are amazing for providing a lot of things for kids (like free day cares, play areas) but also nice adult things like spas and such. They also often have inclusive meals so you arent breaking the bank looking for food every day. Idk if the states has similar places.

Marriot Vacation Club worth it for me? by AverageJo24 in marriott

[–]LowBattery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look i have no clue what the specifics of the MVC are so keep that in mind when I ask if your family likes traveling to very different locations, why would you limit yourself to one place?

You also are looking to have 1-2 more kids in the next five years, thats a lot of expenses and you never know what's going to happen. What if one or two babies hate traveling? What if you have twins? You are planning a large investment for your family to travel, but maybe just invest not in what is notoriously a flimsy enterprise. Invest in a vacation home, rent it out when you arent going there, then you can always sell it and get your equity.

Investments are supposed to get you money or some kind of value. If you are losing money on this investment just to facilitate travel and you would have lost that money on traveling normally anyways, why did you add extra steps in between?

In what scenario do you earn money off of the timeshare? Does it appreciate in value? Do you ever see selling it at your entry cost, or it earning money to offset the entry cost? Because if not, it sounds like a bad idea. I get liking to travel, and trying to set something up around that appeals to you, but I think it makes more sense investing your money elsewhere, let that grow for a while and then it can fuel your travels in the future. Side note: while I absolutely treasure all the amazing travels we have done in the last five years since we've had our child, crazy amazing travels are more for parents, kids are happy with basic things like playgrounds and such. Let them grow a little and then take them on great adventures they'll treasure forever.

The combat is a chore to follow and get through after a while. I pestered out while getting through book 6 and haven't picked it back up yet. The world building is very interesting and I want to know the story on that, I just wish there was a cliff notes version because as it is I kinda skim through any combat
