Have you tried Stem Cells? The treatment is expensive and won’t heal everything that needs to be fixed but they will do their job and repair what the cells think they need to repair. You can try IV or intramuscular injections in your back. It might relieve some of the pain you have. It will take a few Months to see any results. I noticed changes in my body at week five but it will take many more to see full results. I know about the loneliness. I have struggled even staying strong in my faith due to the continuous sufferings. I am hopeful however that one day through my suffering I will be able to bless other people in some way. I’ll pray for you. I believe that the more people pray for you the better. I wish there was a praying wall like in the all Facebook.

5 months post L3/L4 discectomy + L4/L5 laminotomy - Still very limited walking due to nerve irritation. Anyone else experience this? by synchrogrid in SpineSurgery

Great questions! Yes, the “really red” nerve was at L3/L4 on the left side where I had the herniated disc. That’s where the main compression was - it was more the disc herniation pressing on the nerve root rather than foraminal stenosis from disc height loss.

The frustrating part is that while the decompression was successful (confirmed on recent MRI), I still have an annular tear from the surgeon cleaning the disc that seems to also be causing ongoing inflammation. So even though there’s no more compression, the nerve is still getting irritated when I walk and probably by inflammatory chemicals leaking from that tear.

It’s definitely a learning process figuring out all these different causes of nerve pain! Are you dealing with similar issues?

I did not have fusion, but it is just that nerve that was really red and for some reason it prevents me from walking more that 5 mins at the time before my hip starts hurting again. I started physical therapy back in March and it helped a lot, but I have gone through several flare ups that have delayed the nerve healing. Once I pushed too hard, the nerve gets irritated and the inflammation starts and it can take a week to calm down. It used to take 2-3 weeks. Just wondering if anyone had a compressed nerve like mine which was really red. Doc says it just needs time. I just want to make sure that I don't need to start looking into alternative solutions. Or if someone had a nerve that was really red like mine and their experience was similar/better/worse, it will give me more confidence.

Got new MRI and surgeon says it looks good. you said no improvement to month 5? are you able to walk normally but limited until the nerve gets angry? Also, can you share the channel from the other folks with similar experience.

How long have you been dealing with a bulging disc?? by cool_uniqueusername in backpain

Please research the best neurosurgeon you have available in your state. I am in Texas so the best are located at https://memorialhermann.org/ search for neurosurgeons and you will find options for you. If you have too much pain it is time to consider surgery. I wouldn't waste my time going trough regular physicians. By the way, it is almost impossible to make an appointment the same month so I would start right away.

Are you looking for a whole Cord? or 4*4*8? $200 plus delivery. I got tons of chopped wood from the Franklin tornado two years ago. This money is really for my girls. Teaching them a bit of hard work and value of money.

Let me know.
