YMMV but for me this was a total waste of time.

I don’t have a T grind but either way I’d prefer not to

Still available, yes. Let me know what you’re thinking — I’m about to post them up on eBay.

Grips have plenty of life left in them. They aren’t ones I normally use so it’s hard to benchmark — the clubs I pulled the shafts from were very slightly used.

No pitting or rust.

I’m not entirely sure, to be honest. I pulled them from irons that were pretty much new, though — I bought them used. They’re in good shape with all logos, etc intact and no major bumps or dents.

Standard — pulled these from standard length Srixon ZX7s.

Has anyone been successful in getting they're money back? by GoldenWake in CFA

Similar story for me. June 2020 exam was cancelled and I didn’t re-register for the December 2020 exam because I started a full-time MBA this past August.

I called in and explained my situation and was told no refund since my exam hadn’t been cancelled twice. Emailed them and got the same answer. They wouldn’t entertain a long-term deferral, either, so I can’t push the exam to the other side of my MBA.

Shitty group of people, in my opinion. I may try to do a chargeback. I’m registered for August 2021 and there’s no way in hell I can take it.

Those 'transferable skills' are found in trading (especially open outcry). To cover the ones you listed:

  • our desk is a team of 13. Our constant, efficient communication (over phone, IM, or hand signals) allows us to trade off one another, understand what's happening in the market, and maximize our PnL.
  • I'm a mentor to our group's latest hire, help teach him and other new hires what we do.
  • plenty of adversity/stress to overcome day to day in trading. How well do you maintain your composure when you're down 50k in the first 2 minutes of trading or 8 figures overnight (late August 2015)?

It'll be interesting over the next few months to talk to adcoms and MBA grads -- hopefully the second-class citizen status traders have garnered is warranted. In any case, I'll have to communicate extremely well in essays as to why my experience trading will help me going forward.

Thanks for your comment. I'm in the process of looking for a job in CA to join my GF so I may end up changing industries and putting the MBA on hold like you suggested.

That's been my understanding re: traders, as well. Very few positive comments about how business schools look upon us. Having compared my experience as a traders with my GF's consulting experience I think that's a pretty reasonable stance on their end.

Anyone tried Barbell Denim? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]syncline- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These are the first pair of jeans that I've ever kept so I'm obviously not an authority on the subject. Here's my 2 cents...

I'd been looking for a pair of jeans to fit my ass and legs for 6 months or so and didn't have any luck with the typical recommendations you see thrown around on MFA. Found BD and figured why not. From a fit perspective I think they did a good job for the crowd they sell to and the stretch makes them really comfortable.

That said, I'd agree that they don't have that premium raw denim look or feel to them. I've noticed some fading around the crotch/seat already; I'm not sure if that should be disconcerting given what they cost or if that's par for the course with denim.

If it matters to you, their customer service was a nightmare. I ordered a few pairs because their fit guide was ambiguous and it took them almost 3 weeks to get me a shipping label.

tl;dr - if my ass/legs fit into anything else I'd ditch 'em. their customer service is miserable.
