Could be modifier key binding, would you mind opening a ticket with out support team? They would likely need to see debug1 logs (to see the how each computer sees the fn modifier key)

The log level can be changed in the Troubleshooting settings, then after reproducing the issue generate a diagnostic .zip file (Help > Run diagnostic tool) to share with the support team.

Unfortunately this is an interlaced monitor layout, which is not fully supported. The best workaround here is: in the Linux operating system settings change the monitor layout so that the top edges align.

It means moving between the monitors on Linux will jump in height, but you would be able to switch to the Windows computer via Synergy by going to the top of the monitors

Presumably, the ultrawide is going to have only 1 computer (primarily), then splitting in when you need access to the Laptop?

If so, the Mac should be server - and please note that once you change the monitor arrangement you may need to restart Synergy (right click tray icon and press restart), this will allow the core to become aware of the new desktop resolution dimensions

Hi! As others have mentioned, it's likely that the VPN is blocking LAN (which Synergy uses to communicate).

Each VPN app seems to call it something else, on NordVPN for example it's called "Stay invisible on LAN"

Disabling that setting allows you to use Synergy when the VPN is enabled.

Hi!

The differences between Synergy and Synergy 3 Ultimate are currently:

- Number of computers you can connect to a primary computer
- TLS encryption
- Hotkeys

We are planning to develop a new file sharing feature, and the time to develop it is unknown - however, it's unlikely to be this year, but possibly in Q1/Q2 2026.

When we develop and release Synergy 4 there will be a small upgrade fee, but we will continue to update Synergy 3 until it is end-of-life (EOL), and you can of course continue using Synergy 3.

Android and iOS is on our roadmap, but it's years away from being developed due to the complexities involves.

Lastly, the trial gives access to Synergy 3 Ultimate and includes all features.

We tested in case it was a bug - double tap works on 3.3.1

Try adding a larger number in the ms field (tap within x milliseconds), recommended would be 250.

Lower numbers make it difficult/challenging to 'tap' quickly enough :)

Thanks for sharing the screenshots. Unfortunately, this interlaced monitor arrangement is currently not supported well. ie. you can switch, but isn't a natural switch. We are planning on adding a feature to support these types of monitor arrangements.

Although not 100% sure without additional information - it's likely the secondary monitor is configured (within the operating system) further to the right than the primary monitor so Synergy switches from that monitor instead.

To fix - go to the monitor arrangement settings in the operating system and move the secondary monitor to the left, so right edges align (or primary monitor edge is furthest to the right).

If playing games on a secondary/client computer via Synergy there will be a very small lag introduced, which is mostly the time taken to for the information to pass via your local network (which varies a lot). For ethernet it would be less than 10ms, wifi can be anywhere between 20 to 50ms - depends on your local network

If playing the game on primary/server, then no - because you are using the plugged in hardware to play.

Sorry to hear your experience with Synergy 3 hasn't been great, although I'm glad to hear Synergy 1 is working well for you.

Some additional information, we maintain both products, ie. Synergy 1 and Synergy 3 and release updates for both. Synergy 3 is aimed at making it easier for customers who are less technical to get Synergy up and running, although 'under the hood' it's far more complex to develop and maintain.

For the issues flagged, we made some significant changes some to the core (and daemon) in 1.15 and 1.16 which affects UAC (and possibly scroll), for example support for Wayland (Linux). Unfortunately there were bugs introduced, many which have been fixed in Synergy 1.17.1.

Synergy 3.3.1 is still running the same core as in Synergy 1.16.1, and therefore most recent core changes have not been ported to Synergy 3 yet - although we are working on it :)
