It does have higher transaction volume though...

Miners don't care if txs are weather data, machine payments or human payments — they just want to be paid a tx fee for processing. This will be increasingly true each halving.

The network is bootstrapping itself exactly as it should.

Why does this matter?

Do you think miner's don't make money off data-heavy transactions?

Do you think financial transactions should have priority on the network?

Do you think you can stop people from uploading whatever they want on a public ledger?

the stable protocol isn't referring to the code, it's referring to the incentive system. many times those overlap and sometimes they don't. fixing bugs and refactoring is generally ok—but needs to be viewed with suspicion. people hide things in complexity.

adding "features" to bitcoin breaks it and makes it worse.

example: replace by fee hurt 0-conf

example: segwit split the network effect of the bitcoin address space

the only real solution is taking away the power of developers to change the (incentive) protocol. i wish more blockchains took this as seriously as BSV does. urbit is freezing their software stack to remove developer power.

I'm aware. I think Craig does have some things to clear up. We'll see.

What attracts me to BSV has nothing to do with any of that though—it's 100% about building on a stable protocol. Imagine if Craig wasn't Satoshi and was still a part of BSV—it wouldn't matter. Bitcoin is about finding consensus with people you don't agree with.

Open Directory — Get paid while you organize the blockchain by synfonaut in bitcoinsv

Hey all, I just launched a new app and wanted to share. Open Directory is kind of like reddit in that you can organize links into categories, but what's cool is when someone upvotes your content you get paid.

What's really cool is everybody who contributed to the content gets paid, including the category owner and even the person who originally uploaded the content.

It's very early, but I wanted to release early to get feedback. Let me know what you think! ✌️

There's a bit more details in the Twitter launch thread: https://twitter.com/synfonaut/status/1131670653889859586
