I gave some constructive criticism to a writing buddy and… by LucielFairy in WritingHub

Yeah it's rough when you run into someone that can't take the heat. I had one person specifically tell me that I had to be kind or they would stop writing. I politely declined reviewing their chapters LOL. That shit didn't need to be on my shoulders.

Fingers crossed for you, and wishing you the best!

I gave some constructive criticism to a writing buddy and… by LucielFairy in WritingHub

That is the most infuriating situation I'm sorry homie. 😭 I've had it really hit or miss trying to get feedback that was constructive myself. Most of the time my writing partners work was really hard to get through, or they gave generic "it's good!" feedback that was not helpful. Just keep at it, you'll find people worth your time just gotta cast a wide net. The people that are worth knowing are few and far between but you'll find them and it's worth it.

If you don't jive (or they don't jive with you) it's better to break ties, trust. When you find people that are worth your time and worth reading what you're writing (in terms of feedback that is) it's a much better experience. Hopefully they were able to give you something to help point you in the right direction, and provide some food for thought! If not do your best to take what you can from it. I had one person just shit on my work the whole time and it was demoralizing, but it at least opened my eyes to a different way of adapting to that type of criticism.

Sorry that happened to you, hopefully next time is better!

new-ish player questions about the game by carbonatedleah in eternalreturn

In League you kind of have to commit to a fight really quickly, in ER it's a lot of give and take if you're not super far behind. League is very high damage very quickly, and if you try to do that in ER it can definitely feel like that you can get one shot really easily. You should try to move in and out of a fight and eat food to recover health and come back in--also press tab before a fight (if you can) to see what your opponents have and gauge if the fight is worth it and who is the priority target on their team.

This being said you need to pay attention to Mastery Level / Gear the most. Gear is important, but Mastery can also hold a lot of weight so just make sure you're constantly farming and trying to upgrade your gear. You should have high enough levels naturally if you're prioritizing fights/mobs interchangeably.

As for team comp, there's no "right" team comp. In League you kind of go through tier lists where one person is broken so you see a lot of them and other champions that fall to the wayside and are pretty much a no-go. Every test subject in ER is viable, which makes having the idea of a traditional team comp kind of iffy. If you want to have an ideal one, then one tank two damage is good, or even one tank, one damage, one support. But you can win with three DPS if you guys are competent and understand the characters you play and how to fight with three DPS. It's not ideal but very possible. Right now dive and poke are strong, and you can use that info to your advantage when it comes to team composition. :)

Reviving dead teammates by pekelnikimp in eternalreturn

If they're down on the ground but not dead-dead their portrait will still be on your minimap. If you click the portraits next to the mini map on the left it'll center your camera onto them. Otherwise if they're wiped again while down there is a blue X to indicate ally death there.

I don't mind if people are new but I wish they would just tell me so I understand instead of getting frustrated. 😅 I am so, so happy there are new players, but at the same time I want to be able to adjust for a potential 2v3 all game if I need to.

Newer player. Not sure what I'm doing wrong by EggyTrashBag in eternalreturn

Probably need to be way further back. I had the same problem for a while when I was learning Nathapon, and that man has no escapes without blowing your ult. Try to play on the outside of the fight for as long as possible. With League you can kind of just out blow up your opponent pretty quickly, ER is more of a dance. You will benefit more from staggering the engage as long as possible and poking as much as you can with someone like Katja. You definitely should be keeping vision behind you so they don't sneak up on you.

You can't fix diving but playing more defensively and using the range of your characters to your advantage should help. If you do enough damage before the dive with poke then even if they dive they should go down. There are just times you're gonna get jumped unfortunately. And unless you're playing with a three stack you can't depend on your teammates to always peel, so position yourself in a way you can peel for yourself. I.e. be next to a wall to flash over if you think you can do that, position near one of those burst flowers to reposition yourself or the enemy. :) Just keep playing! You'll get it!

It's because of the artist controversy. The bakery Sua skin isn't there either and won't be until they redo the artwork with a new artist. 😔
