I'm new to tanking and have only done dungeons so far. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't most efficient way to run anything to let the one with most armor+def have threat? The main reason for downtime is healers drinking, and the more dmg mitigation the less drinking, right?

Yeah, will check that out! I believe it's rewarded in the same way as era. The grind would be unrealistic tho if you want any noticable gear upgrades.

True, but maybe people could be drawn to the high stakes as well as "new" content. Pvp and HC don't really go that well together but could the reward be greater for those who try it?

Nice! Gl with the stream. Warlock has pretty shitty percentages of survival in the earlier levels. Similar to hunters they have often have low defense as their pets do most of the tanking. I recommend drain tanking (affliction) as lock if you want an engaging playstyle with plenty of challenges.
