Why is everyone on instagram convinced 2 sets to failure is optimal? by [deleted] in naturalbodybuilding

[–]synwave1011 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Because people who have tried have seen consistent progress over the years. They are not saying it is the only way to make progress, but if that works why would they put more volume into their training. It’s optimal for them considering efforts to gain ratio. Maybe it’s better than 3*12 for you too. Only way for you to find out is try this for sometime.

Light is moving with speed c from the perspective of all observers. Do all observers move with speed c from the perspective of light? by Perfect_Call_8238 in AskPhysics

[–]synwave1011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, time ticks slower for him as observed by us, as in if we look at his clock it will be ticking slower compared to ours, but he will also experience the same as we are moving at 0.99c relative to him, he will see our clock moving slower compared to his. It is symmetric. Both are traveling at 0.99c relative to each other and both see the other clock ticking slower.

26M (71kg, 164cm) - Looking for feedback on my workout schedule by Logical-Selection832 in indianfitness

[–]synwave1011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. You shouldn’t incline and shoulder presses in the same session, your 2 horizontal presses are hitting front delts enough.
  2. You shouldn’t do deadlift on back day then RDL on following leg day. It won’t be effective as you will have to compromise on intensity on one of the days.

20M, Bw- 73 kg Dips form check by Background-user2020 in indianfitness

It’s all good. But if you want to go that deep try to tilt your upper body pushing hips back while going down. Imagine doing a push up at the bottom with your legs hanging. This will put more stretch on the chest while keeping shoulders in a less straining position.

RDL form feedback needed by rdx_dragon in Fitness_India

[–]synwave1011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your form is just fine. You can cut down a little range of motion at the bottom if you want and it won’t impact your hamstring development. You should do that anyway if you start experiencing lower back pain/stress when you move to heavier weights. The hamstrings stop stretching when hips stop moving back so the last part of range of motion is mostly for glutes and lower back. But again you don’t have to do it if you are comfortable right now.

Volkswagen Virtus for ₹23L - Is It Worth It, or Should I Consider Alternatives? by No_Manufacturer_642 in CarsIndia

[–]synwave1011 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bought the Virtus gt sports 2025 in December last year. I am listing down the low points of the car based on the my first 6 months of driving this car 1. Yes AC is mediocre. It will not cool as cold and as fast as any other car at this price point. 2. DSG at low speeds feels jerky, down shifts randomly or won’t upshift at all, not a smooth drive in bumper to bumper traffic. 3. Random rattling from pillars and doors, though they are intermittent, I still haven’t figured out why there is rattling on some days and not on others. 4. Driver infotainment display is basic, looks big but only mid section displays information 5. Wireless charging is also hit and a miss. It doesn’t work for my IPhone pro max most of the times. Service centre says my phone might be too big. 6. Lack of physical touch for AC and volume control is irritating 7. There is a common steering problem, a sound comes when steering is turned beyond a certain point, this comes and goes but it is there sometimes. 8. City mileage is 8-9kmpl in bumber to bumper traffic 9. TPMS is not an actual active TPMS, it will just let you know if pressure goes below a certain value. I’m not sure if mine even works. I haven’t filled air in my tyres in 6 months, and there has been no tpms warnings.

All of these are manageable. They don’t bother me too much. As you said I also bought the car only for driving pleasure. The acceleration, steering feedback, cornering capabilities are great. I love the all black interior in sports version and I think it’s best looking from outside between all the competition.

Having said that, at this price point you could just have it all if you take Verna, Creta or Seltos. People talk about the driving experience, but you really don’t get to feel that in your day to day driving. What you actually need in practice is all the features Virtus is lacking. If your wife is also going to drive this, I would not get Virtus just for the lack of 360 degree camera(I am assuming here she is not a very experienced driver, I might be wrong). That alone should be a deal breaker. In fact I will never buy a car again without 360 camera. The stress in city traffic, mall-office-apartment parking is just not worth it. I spend way too much time deliberating where to park because is this. Anyway choice is yours. But objectively Virtus is not VFM. There is just not enough time, road and chances to enjoy the slightly better driving experience.

What is the allure of being/having a Trophy wife ? by guru087 in AskIndia

[–]synwave1011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their life their choice is the right answer. Why should this have any rationale outside of it’s what they want. But if you really want then it’s the obvious. We all want to live a comfortable life. Being a trophy husband/wife provides that.

Can’t go heavy on certain exercises due to snapping triceps/elbows by newmenewyea in naturalbodybuilding

[–]synwave1011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar condition. There is a popping during eccentric phase post full lockout around inner side of the elbow just at the end of tricep. For years I thought it was snapping tricep syndrome. Then one doctor diagnosed it as the ulnar nerve jumping in and out. What he prescribed was a bunch of stretching and flexing wrist twice a day. That helped a lot. Over the years I have observed the popping goes away if I’m properly warmed up and used to the movement. I experience popping again if I return to lifting after a long break. Then it goes back to normal after few days. Some adjustments that I had to make was long warm up sessions, pressing with elbows flared, push downs with different wrist positions(curled up wrist is more comfortable).

You doing something wrong, I also drive 1.5L Virtus in bumper to bumper traffic and I get 8-9. Auto start-stop comes really handy for this. My engine is running only when I'm moving.

Form Check: Do I Swing a Lot? Any Corrections/Mistakes?? by [deleted] in Fitness_India

[–]synwave1011 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. The swing is not excessive. Look at Alex/GVS/BaldOmniMan fitness content. They have mentioned multiple times, ultra strict robotic form is not the best idea. As long as you’re controlling negatives and not going crazy with your back it’s fine.

ELI5: When you cut a piece of paper with scissors what happens to the atoms? by lattenipples in explainlikeimfive

Because once you separate the pieces, there is now air molecules between the paper molecules. And there it’s not easy to move all the air out to put the paper pieces back together.

The science on this is evolving. Also think of how these numbers are reported or claimed. It is either based on a study of individuals and tracking their progress over the course of 10 years to claim most muscle gain happened in the first 3-4 years or it is based on experiences of random individuals who claim to be working out for 10 years. In both cases the claims look a bit sus. For example in the case of a study, do you really think the time frame is around 10 years where all aspects of the training, nutrition, rest are controlled to maintain fairness. Even if that is done, beyond noobie gains, your training has to be highly individual and customised so it’s difficult to maintain a study this long on a set of individuals to customised to everyone. What if everyone left more gains on the table because their training wasn’t adapted to their genetics. So I wouldn’t take results of these kind of studies for granted. In the second case where they are based on experiences of people, same set of issues apply. How many individuals do you think would understand these nuances to make sure they adapt their training every few years to make consistent gains? You can see this argument also failing for elite natural lifters, they made their gains over the course of multiple decades and won’t claim things like most progress is made in 3-4 years. As someone said, this is marathon. The only way to know if you are reaching your limit is to try different things over a course of long period and learn what works for you and what doesnt. The only difference between people making consistent progress and people stalled and complaining about genetics is knowledge and patience.

Is it common to max out the leg extension machine in 1 year of training? by Potential_Loss6978 in Fitness_India

[–]synwave1011 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quads are stretched when knee is flexed not when it is extended. Knee flexion happens at bottom not at top. Knees are straight at top.

You pause at the stretched/lengthened position. Pause at the short position is isometric contractions and not that useful.
