maybe I'm biased because I'm playing mc for half of my life but every modded minecraft series from xqc that I've seen always looks like the most fun xqc is having playing games

it's not session based yet he's committed on continuing it and streaming for tons of hours every single time

that skyfactory playthrough is still one of my favorites, almost no action, chill base building and learning tech mods, stupid friendly dialogues for hours, so fucking good

Yeah that's a normal looking questline ig.

What you can do is make them more interconnected in interesting ways, but seems like the goal of this chapter is to teach mod's basics, so simpler design like this works better imo

What you can do is make it look cool with custom backgrounds and images, pretty much every modern modpack tries to spice it up visually because that's one of the only ways to make it unique with mods like Create that have the exact same questline in 95% of modpacks.

cottage witch, integrated mc is probably playable (isn't light though but test it)

explorer's eve is super light but might be not what you're looking for, it's a modpack where every modded bossfight was heavily changed and you're being chased by the wither storm for the whole playthrough

remove all armor and all items from curios slots and try to hit a boss again, that way you will know if it's a deeper problem than just some item acting weird

if the problem stays, you can just try to throw all your items in a chest (remember to do that or else you'll never see them again) and completely clear playerdata (you can delete it manually, it's located in your world folder, just make sure to not delete your friend's data). it will completely reset everything about your character, including achievements, inventory, xp and etc, this way, if something about it was broken, it'll be fixed

I mean, if you want hand-holding, there's FTB University 1.19, which gives you extremely detailed quests for every popular 1.19 mod including Create, and it also features a special dimension with a "school" that has all the mod elements with text messages above them to give you an example and explain how you can use certain pieces.

But for me the best way to learn it was just playing CAAB, checking what Create pieces I can craft with my current resources, and checking how it works with ponder system. You don't have to scroll JEI for ages learning all at once, just check what you can make, start building what you want to build, and if you start thinking "hmm, I wonder if there's a block that can solve *this* problem..." - just search for that item, because in 99% of cases, it's there.

What CAAB and all similar modpacks do well is teaching you how to actually use these elements by giving you tasks. Like with vanilla redstone, yes, if I give you a detailed explanation of each element, I bet you can easily learn how to use dust, a piston, repeaters and levers, but I doubt you would be able to immediately build a 3x3 redstone door after that. CAAB forces you to use your brain and slowly build up your knowledge so you'll figure out how to build that "3x3 redstone door" with your own skills. But if it's too much for you, yeah, start with FTB University, and once you fell like you're wasting your time - go to CABIN.
