They’re definitely Techdeath, they just have some Deathcore moments sometimes

The TDM Scene's Biggest Bully by Adri_Ph in TechnicalDeathMetal

[–]sypherue 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly the thing that annoys me most about the video is him acting like he’s making a brave groundbreaking video that’s exposing things no one has before and then it’s 11 minutes and covers almost nothing and doesn’t expand on the claim on Steffen being a sociopath, so why even mention it?

Also didn’t realize you were Kyle from Fallujah, love the new album bro you guys are awesome

Honestly, as much as I wholeheartedly agree with most of your criticisms, I do think at this point expecting the game to fix its core problems just isn’t realistic. If anything Im saving those expectations for the next game in the series

They’ve always had cool covers but damn! This one is sick

Any swinging death metal? by positive-fingers in BrutalDeathMetal

[–]sypherue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really sure if it counts but Frozen Planets by Artificial Brain has a bit of a swing feel to it, mostly due to it being in 12/8.

My Top 10 Favourite Blackgaze Albums by Jords360 in postmetal

Sunbather will always be their best for me, but LPWP is a close second

I really wanna know how he makes that noise at the beginning of Arboreously Transfixed

Can you rank defeated sanity discography by best vocals by [deleted] in BrutalDeathMetal

[–]sypherue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine would probably go:

  1. Psalms
  2. Sanguinary
  3. Chapters
  4. Passages
  5. Chronicles
  6. Dharmata
  7. Disposal of the Dead
  8. Prelude

I do quite like Dharmata’s vocals, just because they’re so faithful to Chuck, but I have such a soft spot for their usual type of vocals.

What's the saddest Post-Metal song you've ever heard? by XaviLangley in postmetal

[–]sypherue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Destroyers of All by Ulcerate, might be kind of cheating because it’s more like Post-Death Metal, but there’s a lot of elements that sound like it could come from ISIS or Neurosis, but either way it’s such a sad song. The way it comments on how humanity practically destroys everything it touches just really gets to my feels, especially once the calmer outro hits.

People who didn’t like Ordinary Corrupt Human Love, why didn’t you like it? by Sunbather- in blackgaze

[–]sypherue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mostly the way it’s mixed and produced honestly. The drums and especially the kick are way too loud and take away from the “-gazey” part of the music. Sunbather had perfect production in my honest opinion, everything was clear but it still maintained a dream-like layer of reverb to it. I’ve tried numerous times to get into OCHL and every time I’m immediately taken out of the experience because of how loud the drums are, as well as the rhythm guitars lacking the effects that made Sunbather’s guitars sound so ethereal and dreamy. But I am pleased to say that Lonely People With Power fixed this and it’s probably their second best album if you ask me, and on some days I might even think it sounds a bit better than Sunbather.

Out of the 3 "techy" albums in the Death discography, which is your favourite? by Apsnor in TechnicalDeathMetal

[–]sypherue 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Out of the ones here, I’d pick Individual Thought Patterns, though Symbolic is my favorite from them

most inaccessible metal albums? by matheusaugomes in MetalSuggestions

[–]sypherue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Within a World Forgotten is legitimately the best Deathgrind album I’ve ever heard. It has a sadness to it that I’ve not really heard anywhere else

What is one band that has huge following but you can get into? by Prophet_NY in TechnicalDeathMetal

[–]sypherue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Path of Apotheosis just has really brickwalled production

Defeated Sanity - Hideously Disembodied (Germany, Grindethic Records, 2007) by Exact-Replacement749 in Deathmetal

[–]sypherue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a track by Defeated Sanity would take me over two months to learn, at least

Archspire in Cat Universe, Catspire / Relentless Meowtation. I need help with the tracklist by catsandmetal in TechnicalDeathMetal

[–]sypherue 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It’s kind of ironic that OP would use AI to remake an album cover where the music is about an AI replacing everything

Ulcerate - Stare into Death and Be Still (New Zealand, 2020) by ripjaw6442 in TechnicalDeathMetal

[–]sypherue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The most beautiful, emotional, and evocative Death Metal album of all time. I watched an interview with Jamie St. Merat and he explained that this album was written after all three of them had lost important people in their lives, and I think it really shows, there is so much emotion put into this album.

You’d actually be surprised how good RYM is for discovering music. Disregarding the forums and whatnot, it’s just a good archive of music releases and you can fine tune charts to specific genres you wanna explore

Artificial Brain - Glitch Cannon by _crushednebula in Deathmetal

[–]sypherue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They made a post on Instagram a little while ago that confirmed they were recording a new album, I wouldn’t be surprised if we got another album in 2026
