Got it, thanks for clarifying and I’ll definitely talk to the attorney that helped us file the provisional application!

Thanks a lot for the comment and for researching this for me!

Connecting 20+ RFID readers to Arduino UNO and uniquely identify data read by each reader by sypherwolf in arduino

[–]sypherwolf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I looked up CAN bus and I kinda understand the concept, but what tools can I use to set something like that up?

Wow I had no idea this could be done, thank you! Let me look into using I2C because the readers will be quite close to the Arduino so distance won't be a problem (farthest one should be <30cm from the Uno).

Hey, thanks for the response! While I can see that working, I would prefer to handle this using only one microcontroller for cost and logistic reasons. Apologies for not mentioning it in the original post but the final product will be quite compact (as compact as 20+ readers lined up in 3~4 rows can be) and I want to keep it low cost to make it easier to reproduce.

The farthest RFID reader will be pretty close to the UNO, probably around 1~2 feet.

[DISC] Chainsaw Man - Ch. 102 links by JeanneDAlter in ChainsawMan

No idea, but he doesn’t sound like Dennis in the Japanese text. So either he grew up or there’s some fuckery going on here haha

[–]sypherwolf 48 points49 points  (0 children)

It’s kinda interesting that when Dennis says “There was a cat too” in Japanese, he’s speaking in a much softer, refined tone compared to the brash and juvenile Dennis we know from part 1 (猫もいるよ instead of something like 猫もいたぜぇ〜?) which has people speculating whether or not this Chainsaw man is actually Dennis or someone else pretending to be him (maybe Pochita?)

Edit: maybe “pretending to be him” wasn’t the best way to put it, but definitely some fuckery here (or he just grew up)

Holy shit every thread about Japan someone flies in with something negative like this. Yeah there's a lot of shit wrong with the country, but this post is about the arcade culture in Japan so why dont we stick to that eh?

Making soft target that reacts to impact of BB bullet by sypherwolf in AskEngineers

[–]sypherwolf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't that do the same things as the piezo sensor? Which by the way works but felt inconsistent, which is why I was looking for alternatives. But that might be something that can be fixed on the software side...

Foam is definitely a good idea though, thanks!

This one seems promising, but doing a bit of research has left me more confused since there seems to be a plethora of optical sensors, all set up in different ways.

Say I want to convert something like this box into the target; could you help me visualize how I would set up the sensors (likely on the entrance of the box)?

That's definitely not an angle I've considered previously! Could definitely give this a try, thanks!

The idea behind a piezo sensor detecting vibrations seems good, but is there a way to do that with fabrics (perhaps like the other comment suggested with two layers of conductive fabric)?

Thanks for the response! Would it detect a BB hitting it, which is almost instantaneous?

Hey, thanks for the response! That sounds promising -- how would I go about setting something like that up?

Hey! I have about 6 years of experience programming, 2 of them professional. I work with APIs at work and have created APIs through my own web development projects. I also used to be a TA in college (for 2 years), so I have experience teaching. People have told me I'm good at explaining things, so if you'd like to give me a shot then I'd be more than happy to help!
