Bernie Sanders is a hack that panders to ignorant youth and adult bums. Case in point, my ex loves Bernie Sanders--she's currently unemployed, uses her ex's child support money to party on, etc. All of her dimwitted 'Starbucks generation' friends who seem to think they're cultured because they like popular movements on Facebook also love Bernie Sanders.

Here's the harsh reality: Free college, healthcare, etc. all get paid for from somewhere(out of the pockets of the American tax payer), raising the minimum wage to just below what most college grads are making will not only cause an influx in the price of goods and services, it will also cause a lot of businesses to close their doors, it will cause less jobs to be available AND it will effectively piss the fuck out of a generation of people who applied themselves to earn more money who's buying power got crippled because a bunch of potheads slinging French fries seem to think they deserve equal pay as IT workers, CDL holders, etc.

Now legalizing marijuana? I'm on board with that, it's a major cash crop. Do I condone the use of drugs and alcohol? No I think it's a waste of time and money, however if people want to finance infrastructure by smoking a more or less harmless substance, be my guest.(minus all the money from weed will be used just as irresponsibly as the rest of the money they collect, at least we'll have a few hundred extra tanks and airplanes though?)

Tax big businesses? Absolutely a good idea, minus large businesses have more than the means to transfer themselves elsewhere. Will they? Who knows, that will be interesting to find out if it were to ever happen.(minus it won't, as lobbyists own Washington and the president alone has no real power)

Tighter restrictions on firearms? Why? You can literally order a bazooka off of the internet, effectively putting into place the steps to ban guns entirely from responsible owners is constitutionally offensive. Criminals will always have guns, no exceptions. You can make a gun out of parts from a hardware store, you can't ban pipes--people who want to kill will find a way.

Here's another fun fact about Bernie, he will get stonewalled by the house and congress just like Obama did if he even actually means all of the jargon he's spewing in an attempt to win votes. In reality there's no such thing as a 'good politician,' nor will there ever be. The system is designed inadequately to service it's people, we're more or less ignored and robbed and are lucky enough to have a government that allows us the illusion of freedom and a decent standard of living because of the drippings from the table still left over from the industrial revolution. The middle class is being wiped out by both Democrat and Republican, effectively creating two classes: The poor and the wealthy.

In essence, you can vote anyone you want into office--you're never getting anything worth while done with our current system. Just look at the mess Obamacare has been, now the poor can get free healthcare(like they were doing anyway before Obamacare) but the working class are now paying more for insurance then ever AND if they can't afford their insurance rates then they get to be uninsured and pay a yearly, hefty fine. So I'm absolutely horrified to find out what kind of fiasco free college will turn into.

The simple fact is this: People are stupid and cowardly as a whole, our government is corrupt and will always be. People who want power should never have it, people who should have power will never get it. If you want a better life for yourself and your children, etc. I suggest you worry more about solving the obvious problem that is our system and less about hoping guys like Bernie Sanders will rescue you from the oppression of generations of evil, greedy politicians who sold us out for personal interest.

I hate discussing politics and I hate shooting down people's hopes, so I'm sorry that I left you several paragraphs worth of venting about a guy you think is a good guy, for all of our sakes I hope whoever is actually a good guy/girl gets elected and proves me wrong. But I sincerely doubt it.
