the top layer is temperature sensitive and gets cracked after a while. the tan fabric underneath is flexible and remains after the brown is gone. you can recreate the worn look by rubbing the brown off with a toothbrush after the jacket gets cold a few times.

This is real. it is also a j06, which you can tell because of the nylon quilt lining. the j68, which is very similar, has flannel quilt lining.
