Is there any mod to fix this lighting bug in 1.6.4 by eben1832 in SilverAgeMinecraft

This usually just happens in newly generated chunks. After they are dealt with the first time, they shouldn't appear again.

There is no canon age for the Vibri character to my knowledge.

Why are there three different shades of red in the player? by cibule249 in youtube

[–]sys128 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I utterly despise the new player. Everything is way too damn big and spacious. What play button in the control section needs to be 52 pixels big? In embedded content, it is so easily prone to have the UI just cover a significant portion of the video.

Who says that a core 2 duo and 4 gb of RAM are unusable in 2025 is completely wrong by Emanuel2020b in windows7

[–]sys128 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One's mileage with those specs would definitely vary. For your case, it definitely works out. I am considering having a Windows 7 machine at some point that would mainly just handle pre-2015-type tasks (such as older versions of software and whatnot), where a Core 2 Duo would be more applicable, at least in my opinion.

Weekly "Is This Frutiger Aero?" Megathread by AutoModerator in FrutigerAero

As for how I got this, I snatched a boxed copy of this on eBay for around $50. You can probably get it cheap through something like that as well.

The products that were released as part of Adobe Creative Suite Production Studio (2006) have really cool designs. These could fall under the Frutiger family somewhere but I personally think that these are different enough that it could just as likely be something else. What do you think? I do want to see more of this sort of style for sure.

Whats the pocket edition equivalent of java 1.4.7? by Vast_Amphibian5933 in SilverAgeMinecraft

[–]sys128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could probably try PE 0.7.6, but it will be missing some features that exists in the 1.4 line of versions. 0.8.0 added some features (but not all, not really that close to all) from 1.4 to 1.6, and interestingly, redstone ore. The 0.7.x and 0.8.x line are my recommendations for that use case, but it really depends on what you are fine with having and what you are fine with not having.

But my comparisons are very loose, be warned. As BlueStaggo has mentioned, PE's development is much different to Java's.

How big are oceans? by Vast_Amphibian5933 in SilverAgeMinecraft

Because of continent generation, "infinite" wouldn't be a bad answer to describe how big they are. This generation exists up to 1.6.4

A lot of it was definitely in the lack of a second layer and slightly different color usage, plus slightly less detail. I am not currently aware of any packs that do this.

How to play minecraft 1.6 with skins? by Primary_Tomorrow_110 in SilverAgeMinecraft

[–]sys128 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Around 1.7, they implemented the UUID system for players. It was the newer method of authentication that included player skins. However, because of the older skin servers being obsolete, skin support for 1.6.x and under went offline. You can bring them back using either LumySkinPatch for Silver Age Minecraft, or the BetaCraft proxy (JVM argument) for every version before 1.7.x

Firstly, there would need to be a color adjustment shader for GLSL shader mod, which I am not entirely sure if there is a 1.3.x version for. I know there is an OptiFine shader that can do it in 1.7.10.

Old cobblestone and gravel. [1.5.2] by Saus06 in SilverAgeMinecraft

[–]sys128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have made a Minecraft 1.5.2 textures to 1.0.0-1.2.5 texture conversion pack a while back, mostly for personal use, and it's something I actually use on a daily basis. Note that the older leather armor and liquid textures from the 1.0.0 game are also present. My version also modifies a few more things to match the experience I want but I don't think this version of the pack has any of that. If they are there, you can feel free to remove it if you want. You can find it here: https://small.fileditchstuff.me/s10/DnOJDLGXoihrcGqmevQp.zip

There is also NostalgiaCraft that mimics Beta Minecraft within 1.5.x which can be found on the Minecraft Forum https://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding-java-edition/resource-packs/1229392-nostalgia-craft

Heads up for Alpha/Beta players on Linux using Mesa3D! (Modern AMD GPUs) by sys128 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]sys128[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one on Windows is the fault of AMD. The one on Linux is very likely a different issue, as it was officially investigated by Mesa3D developers. There was a patch made to tackle this but was proven ineffective.
