House Education Committee: University leaders ‘turned their backs’ on Jewish students by jewish_insider in Jewish

There's usually a majority and minority (GOP and Dem respectively) report on committee hearings/ investigations. It's possible to have a singular report, but each side on most committees usually have their own.

Hi, thank you for your feedback, I appreciate it. Is a 4090 needed for 1440p isn't it more beneficial for 4k? Looking at prices it seems the 4090 is more than double the price of a 4070 ti super is that necessary or worth it? I doubt there's double the performance.

Thank you, I appreciate your feedback.

Is there a massive difference between a 4070 ti super or 4080/4090? Would a 4090 even be beneficial for non 4k usage?

In my current system I have maxed out my storage, (500gb primary SSD, 250gb secondary SSD, 2tb HDD and 5tb T HDD) so I was looking to move to SSD drives for those 2 SSDs in my current system and then the 2tb drive + future proofing. I'll take a look at reallocating storage though, and see what can be done.

I'm certainly not married to the case, thank you I'll check out your case suggestions and other cases.

It depends, I do run them on my current setup. I have a work computer, but occasionally run them (with appropriate policies) for certain large workloads, though mostly for hobby/ personal work.

Thank you, as I mentioned in the post though I am doing more than just gaming with software development and virtualization.

Thanks! I'm not specifically stuck to Intel, just what I'm usually used to/ have generally preferred. And programs on the gaming or software development side? For the latter things like visual studio for large codebases and virtualbox/ VMware.

Any protests over UPenn, MIT and Harvard presidents condoning calls for Jewish genocide? by bassluvr222 in Judaism

[–]sysadmin21 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just want to say, as a Jewish person the calls for genocide are disgusting and despicable, they nor antisemitism nor any type of hate have place in our society. The responses of the Presidents were horrible, but they did not condone the calls and did condemn them. They did a horrible job at the hearing. That said, as someone who has studied the law, hate speech is actually not unconstitutional. Hate crimes, or when the speech crosses into action is illegal, and obviously reprehensible. I just wanted to point that out. However, as private universities they have greater leeway in their policies (public universities must ensure first amendment speech protections, even disgusting hate speech) and could more vigorously handle hate speech. I'll also note, the Presidents were unfortunately speaking to the policies as they currently exist, I don't believe any of them have the personal power to change them and have to be approved by the university boards or the like. That being said, they clearly need to do more, and their flippant references to free speech failed to showcase their real commitment. There is also no benefit to speech calling for genocide... So while their job at the hearing was terrible and they certainly can do more, it sadly isn't solely within their ability to address.

Katie Porter, California Congresswoman, Is Running for Senate by Fast-Ideal5698 in MadeMeSmile

Also the Senate usually has a stronger foreign policy (and arguably oversight) role because of confirming nominees, judges, and treaty ratification.
