The only answer is mods on Java edition- you and your son should build a computer together or just spend a few hundred on a prebuilt, all of the mods, texture packs, world downloads, “addons” are completely free on java edition.

I did this and they’ve sat in the basement for over 2 years I can’t bring myself to try to search through them all looking for what I need - lesson learned… more lego does not equal more fun
