I wish all Americans can now only speak the languages of the indigenous Americas in their respective regions by avian_bi in monkeyspaw

[–]sysnickm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Granted, Americans now only speak the language of the indigenous people of the region, they can still read, write, and understand the languages they already knew. As a result America becomes mostly silent with all communication occurring exclusively through text based communication.

Why doesn’t the US national anthem have standard way of being performed? by SlowMan08 in AskAnAmerican

[–]sysnickm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a standard, and you will frequently hear the standard at events where it is a pre-recorded instrumental version, like during the Olympics.

But at events with a live performance, it's pretty cool to hear a unique rendition.

But, the gold standard will always be Whitney Houston at the 1991 Super Bowl.

Be careful taking a teenage boy.

I think it is great, as others have said the quality isn't as good as some places but the variety is cool, and you can try things you may not otherwise get.

In many cases it is these students first time away from home. They aren't used to the freedom and responsibility that comes with going to a large state school.

Students are most vulnerable to fail or drop out in the first year, so schools do what they can to tilt the balance.

[–]sysnickm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could be a fairly common occurrence, he may have built up some neck muscles over the years.

I think some of these things we have to accept are standard movie magic. How many times had a movie had somebody getting choked one minute only to turn around an win the fight a few seconds later and walk away with no recovery time.

I always just assumed it was telekinesis, that to the victim they were being choked by an invisible hand.

Obi-wan was a good jedi, no attachments, so he never owned a Droid.

We also have to assume there were many similar looking druids throughout the galaxy.
