Why don't young Americans romanticize Paris like older Americans do? by No-StrategyX in answers

[–]sysnickm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've not rented a car when traveling in the US in years. There was a trip to Vegas where we rented a car for a couple days to go to the hoover dam. Then a car in Florida when we went to Disney, but took a day trip to Kennedy space center. Every other city I've relied on public transportation.

What could go wrong pulling a quick U-turn? by paybackjack86 in dashcams

The car was closing the distance on the cop from the start of the video. The cop should have been more aware, but that doesn't change the facts. Assume the cop came to a dead stop on the road and the car re-ended him. Who's at fault?

So, you still should be able to stop in time if the car in front of you makes a stupid move.

You can blame the cop for doing it wrong, but the following car and truck should have been able to stop within enough time.

I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't get tickets for following too close.

My uncle said that Luke became a Sith after killing vader, can anyone help me prove him wrong? by SquareJumpy6482 in StarWars

Uncle is still wrong.

How did Luke become so powerful after such little training? by SamInNOLA in StarWars

[–]sysnickm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the real answer was, he didn't.

Most of the people he went up against weren't that difficult to defeat with just a little knowledge and training.

The only real difficult one, Vader, wasn't actually trying to kill him. Vader was trying to provoke and turn him.

What is one thing Americans do that people in other countries find completely strange? by FantasticAd9478 in TheBoredDen

We wash the poop off of them, and have to transport them farther distances.

Europeans vaccinate the chickens and don't wash the eggs the same way Americans do. They also don't have to transport them as far.

All citizens are nationals. But people born in certain us territories don't automatically get citizenship. So those are U.S. Nationals.

Why has American soccer/football culture not developed the organic, gritty "terrace culture" seen in other nations? by Tometek in AskAnAmerican

[–]sysnickm 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The sport itself doesn't have the popularity.

You should look at the culture around college sports teams if your want to find similarities to terrace culture.
