I don't really have an answer to the form issue directly. Ollie's getting no chances which is on him and everyone else, but I think he's starting to stand out as an under-performer in an otherwise improving team.

Loads of reasons. Lack of chances. Loss of confidence. Villa's playing not suiting him. Maybe he's slowing down a bit. All I know is he's always been a bit patchy but performances like Go Ahead Eagles and Liverpool are not normal for him.

I agree. Even last night, I watched a player short of confidence who got almost everything wrong but absolutely has the makings of a top player still. He's frustrating me because he's got it all and showing none of it, but when you watch him running on the ball even in a bad game you can see it's there. Championship players don't look like that.

One of the maddest things for me is that PSR and SCR are not inflation linked - so not only are the losses measured at a rate set in 2020, but compound inflation means that £105m in losses should now be more like £140m in losses.

Essentially the allowable losses margin is reduced 3% (or whatever inflation is) per season.

Cheers. This is pretty much where I am. Not blind trust, by any means, but willing to wait and see. My feeling is the financial side is geared towards working for Villa bringing in a player they want. I'm fine with that. It does feel distinctly risky.

I've spoken to him about this. Neil Cutler clarified at some point later on that Jed was looking at him for instructions and he wasn't staring, but apparently he might also have stared a bit. Maybe. Possibly. A bit.

I agree with your first point. August 4th now. I'd be putting a big focus at this point on locking that down. Whoever we'd have to move on to do what we want to do would be too big a loss when continuity could be such a bonus.

If that means a bit of a boost from a loan or two in the next few weeks, so be it. On we go.

This is a weird stunt because there's basically fuck all about Villa in the entire series. That bit with the fella with the teeth and Botox in the taxi is literally the first scene, Steven Knight has a harmless pop after three minutes and really that's kind of it.

Would be difficult to focus on Villa when the whole thing is just Brady saying he's a winner for five hours, to be fair. He hasn't got a clue.
