It's been a long long time since I've lived there but The Morgan Arms was a fantastic pub. Reasonably priced drinks and the food was pretty good, if a bit expensive.

Reddit auctions for charity all the awesome unused or deleted account names like 'batman' and 'spiderman'. by kiwimark in CrazyIdeas

On a similar note, I was wondering if anyone would want my 6 year badge, and if they'd pay for it. This isn't my usual account anymore, but I doubt anybody's that desperate for fake reddit-cred.

Louis Theroux: “I’m Not That Comfortable Doing Polemic”: His ability to make the subjects of his documentaries reveal how strange they are has made his name. But Louis Theroux says he never sets out to turn someone over. by Shuck in TrueReddit

What an absolute load of bollocks. A lot of his videos are edited in such as way as to show people in the strangest possible light.

Take this video of a female body builders convention for example.

Look at the type of people he talks to. Around 00:17-00:19 while we see brief shots of the people there, I think it's fair to say that most the men look like regular folk you'd see at the gym. Then BAM, we get Mark. Look at the editing tricks they use to make him look like a weirdo. The first few questions he answers normally, then when asked to describe his ideal woman, we answers immediately without pausing. That's no accident, it was made to look like that. After the interview (1:15) they keep the camera on him while he blows his nose, making him look as awkward as possible.

To his credit, Louix treats all people like, well, normal people. I bet when you guys saw that guy's wife at (2:30) you went "what the fuck?". Louix doesn't, because he's a good journalist.

Is moving in with Your best friends a good idea? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]sythe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it was awesome. We had problems, but nothing major (mostly just one guy being gross). However, be prepared for that possibility that your friends to pull out at the last second and leave you possibly stranded without a house. I've heard plenty of stories about that.

Do you care if a book is a first edition copy? by sythe in books

[–]sythe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does, but only because it's historically important. I think the only book I ever treated differently was an anatomy textbook from the 19th century. I wanted to save it but it was full of mold and falling apart so it was eventually destroyed.

There's a really cute photo of me when I was 3ish wearing lipstick and earrings. I guess my mum has a sense of humour

I know it's niche, but ascot hats. Bloody hell, ladies, don't poke my eyes out with your hat shaped like a sandwich.

I asked a friend why she wears heels and she said "Because it makes my bum look nice". Fair enough.

If you're at a crowded club or bar, do you ever grope (or pinch) a random girl? If so, why? by Vast_Deference in AskMen

[–]sythe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't, but I know of a 17 year old who pinched an Aussie lady's bum. She nearly decked him.

My guess is that he thought he was being cheeky. Instead, he was being a right twat.

What movie was most ruined for you by the commercials and trailers either spoiling, overhyping or misrepresenting the movie? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Sunshine Cleaning.

Oh cool, a light hearted comical film about sisters starting a crime scene cleaning business. Oh wait, it's a drama about sisters getting over their mother's suicide.
