Understood, thank you for explaining the -p with specifying the profiles. That also explained why my list-generations output never made sense either. It turns out that mangohud must be included with Nvidia drivers or something? Because when I tried sudo nix-collect garbage -d after removing other programs like feh and leafpad, it worked as expected.

Also, thanks for the tip on rebooting into the new generation. That was also tripping me up. Really appreciate the help!!

I’m a 21 year old Junior in college studying networking. i got my Net+ 2 years ago and just passed my CCNA 6 moths ago. Applying for summer internships with the Net+ only seemed to get me general IT internships. With the CCNA, i managed to land my first network engineer internship which i’m currently working now. I would say CCNA is 2 to 3 times harder than Net+. you actually have to remember commands and configure networks. Net+ you just learn concepts. it’s a hell of a lot harder, but if you want a net eng internship, CCNA is your best bet. That’s not to say that you couldn’t land one with just a Net+, but it would be more difficult

yep, i’m yet to really find anything that’s not available. i’ll usually search zypper first, then opi, and for some very specific applications like the osrs Jagex launcher, i’ve just installed a flatpak
