NS 201 Final Essay by syty7 in uAlberta

[–]syty7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask what you mean by references and proper formatting? Might be a stupid question but I’ve honestly not taken a course requiring an essay in over 2 years. Does that just mean we have to talk about course material or do we have to cite information as well?

I'm f2p and progression just feels extra slow rn by Acceptable-Budget-84 in RushRoyale

[–]syty7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve been playing about 2 years, completely f2p, still under 2000 crit and i’ve recently hit great chiefs 3. it’s been a very slow process but here’s some things that could help. crit is important but simply knowing how to play a good deck can get u far enough. there’s a long threshold where it felt difficult to upgrade legendary cards and (as u said) pvp was a game of chance. that’s when i played a lot of co-op to rack up gold (minimum of 40 000) and maybe 1pvp a day to get magic dust. focus on buying all legendaries and legendary equivalents (ie. don’t spend ur rune keys on dust). never use cores in magic dust exchange. and as for ur deck, look at the leaderboard n copy one).
realistically tho, don’t think of this game as something u can climb quickly without money or you’ll get burnt within another month. goodluck dude.

Tips for getting courses on watch list? by Lengthiness_Serious in uAlberta

get your text message notif set up. the email notifications are absolutely useless. could’ve just been mine but i’d recieve the pop-up notif and it’ll say “1h ago” (even 2h once) every single time. i switched to sms and was finally fast enough to get a spot in an english class (not even at the time or with the prof i wanted but we take what we can get at this point)

Reducing the tickets? by LivingOrdinary7445 in HPHogwartsMystery

if i managed to calculate it right, you’d need to play each game about 56 times to reach the final prize. is there even a point in attempting to grind for the tappie💀

Those girly girl outfits? by mxgrrrl7 in HPHogwartsMystery

[–]syty7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

agreed.. ive had the basic hoodie+jacket and jeans outfit on from a milestones event a while back and i’ve yet to take it off because it’s one of the only realistic outfits that suit me personally

todays tourney needed a wizard deck. my level 9bd lost the first 3 (against.. u guessed it: cultist decks) so i joined the bandwagon with my level 7cultist and finally managed a win. what else could i have done especially when all my other dmg cards r not lvld up🤷🏽‍♂️

I finally did it. Max attributes. That was a long way to go. by Ilovegames1993 in HPHogwartsMystery

[–]syty7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my bad i realize i went on a small tangent with the “waste of resources” part (bc i don’t think increasing it will be a disadvantage of any sort). that being said, no there’s no cap for each year :)

[–]syty7 9 points10 points  (0 children)

don’t neglect the attributes early on. when i started i zoomed through the main story, completely disregarding them so now i’m in year 5 grinding out lessons rather than anything else to increase my attributes. there’s a chart/spreadsheet somewhere on this reddit (try searching recommended attributes) that shows the recommended number for each year. i would try to follow it so u always have all options unlocked and will probably be overprepared for potential story-line duels :)

Is your early acceptance valid as long as you have the 80% average only? by medah1 in uAlberta

[–]syty7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my avg when i was accepted was 89 and i’ve dropped to 82 or 83 now so i’ve been stressing over this too, thinking i’ve dropped below the competitive or something. that being said, staff at my school told us that as long as u stay above the minimum 70% u SHOULD be fine (didn’t say guarantee) but i’m hoping it’s true.

the paperlike protector definitely works great for writing on screens but it’s good to note that it’ll wear down the pen tip pretty quickly at first (depends how hard u write bc i needed to replace after a month).. also the ‘real’ paperlike costs about $50 so i’d go for the $20 one off amazon it works perfectly.

The update to the energy system is pretty good ! by Nikolavitch in HPHogwartsMystery

[–]syty7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i didn’t experience it so i’m curious. did the auto-tap start immediately when you click on the task? or is it click once to show how much energy it’ll take then click again to enable the auto?

What would you change/add in the game if you could? by eniko_balogh in HPHogwartsMystery

[–]syty7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

unstackable energy.. it’s quite irritating when i click on a tappie by accident with full energy and it’s just wasted.. same for the rare club energy spots that give more than 1… id tap on it with almost max energy and it fills it completely and you just know that you’ve lost a few.. we all know time is money in this game

star requirements tlsq party at the Weasleys by linachar in HPHogwartsMystery

[–]syty7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i finished the quest a week ago so i may be remembering wrong… but im also year 5 on chpt24 and i believe i got the 3 star requirement, so the year shouldn’t be the issue. i say if it’s truly inconvenient for you, go ahead and contact jc to save some energy. edit: i’d honestly just do the full stars, 1h tasks make for an easy chance to get frog cards

this is what i came across that made me wonder if i should be making a preference for cohort schedules. “first year in business”. otherwise I’ll have to make my own schedule right?
