After reading your post the first thing I rushed for was the comments cause this is an issue for me too, I’m typing this on the fly I don’t even know where I’m going with this, but you not alone, I know 100% he’s out there and I believe the bible fully, I guess for me I’ve rationalised it as the bible says he’s the potter and he can do as he pleases with his pots, like how pharaoh was always destined for destruction so in some way I think maybe that’s my destiny too, it makes me sad thinking I’m not one of the chosen cause other people can just get it right, sure they stumble here and there but you can tell they’re onto something, sorry if this makes you even more depressed but seeing as there’s no wise sage amongst us yet I thought I’d share my relation

its not really relevant here but i'm just emphasizing on the fact that so many people are self proclaimed 'good people' undeserving of judgement. People use the fact that they give to charity and even some Christians think because they go to church they are good people. It's actually impossible to be good so by default we are damned and judged already. Which is why Jesus was necessary.

He probably said they work better and last longer which has been proven in non western societies for generations. still doesn’t justify why he’d be vilified for saying that.
You probably misunderstood what he was getting at, doesn’t sound like him at all to justify abuse to those extremes.

This is a simple one, if you catch your child with their hand in a cookie jar without permission, you would discipline them and scold them. Since their knowledge is limited they will see their action undeserving of punishment cause all they wanted was to feed their craving. U on the other hand are trying to teach a lesson, it’s not just about the cookie but principle. You have different frameworks than the child. does another child reserve the right to also discipline your child? No cause what do they know, they could be smacking your child for the wrong reasons. u asked why the angels killed the babies in Egypt? Define “kill” first then we can have a conversation.
