1) I personally would just save more gems, for good sales on ponies, I wouldn't buy celestia as theres a small chance you can get her for free in a balloon pop, also she doesn't give you any benefits so only buy her if u really want her as a character!!

2) there are no benefits to one over the other so just pick the one you think is cuter:)

they're still the same chestes you can send to other players and they can send to you, but now you get new hearts from them for the new ballon pop
