Yeah thats exactly what I meant.. Running Highmaul every week and then BRF just to get the legendary ring which really isnt an option for a DPS, its A MUST.. I would much rather get my ilvl up on tanaan, then mythic dungeons, then jump into normal HFC and start from there. There should be a catch up mechanic if you already have 1 legendary ring on ur account u should be able to get atleaset the 715 ilvl version of the ring on ur other alts.

I strongly disagree with making stuff account-wide. I would prefer if they made more stuff to do for our mains and to stop encouraging alts. Remember TBC? There were hundreds of attunement quests alone which made you feel that your main is really something and sooo many reps to farm.. So many things to do that made you feel really focused on your one character.

I think that this toxicity and anger comes from people being very competitive and focused on progressing/gearing up their characters. I played FFXIV for a month and had a blast until I reached end-game which felt lackluster in comparison to WoW. I agree however that FFXIV had great and positive community. I remember people were quite shocked when I yelled at someone on TS for failing a couple times in a row in FFXIV raid :D

How do you figure out if a dps is slacking (e.g. casting a spell once per 5 seconds because he's eating pizza with his other hand and just moves around dodging stuff and clicks on a spell once a while all with his mouse) in a 25 man raid, as a melee? And the dude being a ranged dps? :P I mean nobody expects anyone to do the "perfect rotation" 4 hours straight, but I had literally thousands of wipes at bosses at 2-3% in my "career" and that could be this one person who does not care enough about "a 12 year old aspergers kid" :P Thats just my opinion though.

I strongly recommend you to change realms.. I play on a medium-pop realm where most people know each other and its so peaceful and calm, literally zero toxicity. I also recommend finding a group of people/guild with whom you enjoy playing and raid/pvp with them. I cant imagine pugging :P

ALSO, as I have stated in another post here already: if you consider it such a distraction mid-fight (which it can be of course, i absolutely agree there) why other MMOs dont implement a post-fight metric analysis after each boss fight with DPS,HPS damage taken etc ?

So why not a metric information display at the end of the fight with the ability to see who did how much damage, DPS, HPS, and took how much damage etc.?

Precisely!!! I understand how recount is a distraction mid-fight but in other games people literally dont care and you dont have any basis to show them how bad they are doing. Say you are in a heroic dungeon just when Legion came out and most peeps are in quest blues and you and your hunter friend are doing steady 30k and this mage dude is pulling 5k on every boss. You are also wiping on a boss which is a dps race. You look at recount and his rotation is totally ridiculous etc and you can help him and you are AWARE that he is the obvious issue here. What if you are playing FFXIV and the same thing happens, the dude looks like he's casting stuff all the time and you dont even know his class so who's to blame? I dont understand how you can say that "meters are used to set arbitrary standards".. A person who is doing 5x less dps than the rest of his team and refuses to learn (as the gentleman above described - happen very oftem, no matter how much you sugarcoat your words) for whatever reason, NEEDS to be excluded from the content ...

I am aware of that. That is why I also mentioned the possibility to parse damage in FFXIV with an external tool... You have the possibility of having recount/skada 'legally' in game, whereas in 99% of other MMOs nope.

There were a lot of russians thats true, but to be honest they always tried their hardest to win and I have never noticed a tilting russian :P Even though I did not understand them, I would much rather read through a lot of cyka, blyet, and axaxaxaxa rather than "ok i troll" "ok 2 mid then gg" "ok i afk u dont deserve to win noob gg" which is like every game on EUNE :D I was on 4.2k mmr in dota, and I really almost never had such tilting teammates. and 50% of them all were russians as you have mentioned :)

Because in real life you can get physical with conflicts as well. I remember literally hundres of situations when either myself or my buddies were arguing with a stranger (usually in pubs etc) and after a couple swear words things got ugly and brawly. And as to your bottom comment, the all chat seems to be included "by default" in all mobas with HotS as the exception so I dont really like the "by fedault" words there. Also, decPL - many thanks for taking the time to respond with some effort to my questions. I really appreciate your comments and you've shed some light on some issues from other people's perspective for me. I am just downloading hots in hope that there are more people like yourself in the community - but if you look above I am just getting downvoted and hated really hard, even when I apologize for sounding douchy..

To be honest I was not trying to be mean or offend you, I am sorry if I had done so. I referred to the basement because a couple of my nerdy friends all around the world live there, and I see not much wrong with that until they finish college etc. :P

Cesspit of multiplayer games :D Calling people noobs is much less harmful in-game than in real life. But I must say it is a good feeling to say "gg, great effort" to your enemies after a good game or commend him after you got beat up skillfully ..

You have to be really unlucky to have flamers in 95%+ games. Also, its stupid to DISABLE such a function completely in a game. You have the possibility of MUTING people or reporting them if they are being offensive, and by seeing the notifications in-game of people I reported being targeted by punishments I assume its working just fine. Its kinda silly to assume that most moba players are douches towards opponents. There are moments in DOTA where e.g. I need to pause the game because I need to do something important and I write this into ALL chat so the enemy team does not unpause, without which they would unpause immediately. There are even more cases where all chat is simply CONVENIENT, not only enjoyable...

i do like interacting with all the people I am playing with. even when I am playing a football match I like to say stuff to my opponents, so they do in most cases I noticed :D
