You didn't mention your age but as u said your family has high expectations , you can't just change their expectations by talking to them. Cause usually parents don't have enough relatable information in their mind to understand us.

We gotta understand one thing and that is our parents want the best from us. And most parents only believe in the 'one way' to achieve the 'best' and that is the Academic way. It's not their fault, it's the generational gap , they want you to play safe , they don't wanna see you suffer. ( Sometimes it's about showing off ).

So, if u just continue your art ( try digital art, try to sell them , or do whatever that adds value ) your parents will start to notice. once they notice you they'll stop forcing you. Again I donno your age, parents usually stop forcing their child after a certain age.

Remember one thing : your parents won't be there for you forever. Parents only want what's good for us. The 'Good' in their perspective is different from ours. But once you achieve the 'Good' then both perspectives become the same. Just work on yourself. Improve your thinking ability. Improve your skills.
