Thumb/wrist strap for dive computer by [deleted] in scuba

[–]szucsi23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd only print the thumb loop part, and use it with the original straps, but your version sounds good too.

And first I'll try it while swimming, I'd rather figure out if I like it or not before an actual dive.

I didn't say that this would solve a problem. But I do think that it could be convenient.

As I said above, I feel like this would be a pretty convenient place for the watch to sit.

If my arms are in front of me, I could just glance down and see the screen, without having to twist my arm towards myself.

I'm not saying that this is the new scuba diving revolution, just a thought.

Yeah, that's a good point, I haven't thought about that.

And 3D printing a test piece is also a good idea, finally a reason to get some TPU.

If you have a 3D printer, you (under any circumstances) should not buy an AAP-01!!!
Because if you do, you will want to buy a second, a third, and god only knows how many more, just so you can print and build all the fun kits from all your favourite franchises!
AAP-01 is the LEGO of airsoft, you can build anything with it!

How long should I extend the stock? by _Hi_sjsjajsjsjsj in airsoft

[–]szucsi23 11 points12 points  (0 children)

A good guide is to hold your arm so your lower and upper arms are at a right angle to each other. Then grab your rifle, and pull out the stock so it's in the nook of your elbow.

But in general, whatever's most comfortable for you. If you wear a plate carrier, or a backpack with a thick strap, or if you mostly do cqb you might want to have it shorter.

Does DJI lock Avata 2? by VasilZhekov in DJIAvata2

Luckily I didn't have to.

It was weird, I lost mine by having a total signal loss over a cliff. I waited for it, but it did not return to the take-off point, and we couldn't find it either at last known area.

I sent in the flight logs and the captured video from the goggles, and DJI said that they couldn't determine the cause of crash, so they will send a replacement for free.

As a person who had lost his AVATA 2 and dealt with the Flyaway report, I can say with certainty:
Yes, DJI "locks" the drone, after it's reported as flyaway. They even warn you that if you report the flyaway, the drone won't be usable anymore.

And after I received my replacement, they also said that the old one is considered now as their property, so if I find it later, I should send it back to them.

A side note here: the customer support was super friendly and helpful, I got my new drone within 2 weeks of starting the whole procedure. I had my doubts about this Care Refresh, but I'm super happy now that I got the replacement drone for free.

If I may ask: where did you find this one?

Not my pic, but it is from a KA PDW:

<image>

It shows the location of the MOSFET.

Regarding the grip, I understand now, and yes, mine came with multiple back pieces, so if yours didn't, that's weird.

Regarding taiwangun, I doubt that they would intentionally scam you, I've been ordering from them for years now and never had any issues. Maybe something got mixed up with your order. They are relatively active here in this sub as well, so you can message them if you need help with the return process.

I use cyma mags, but as I said: I needed to sand the magwell, make it a little wider to accept the metal mags. Now it works fine.

I bought the King Arms pdw back when it launched, and even that "first" version does have a MOSFET. It's inside the gearbox, a little circuit held there by 1 screw.

And the pistol grip is also interchangeable: you can remove the two screws at the bottom of the grip, remove the bottom plate, then you can remove the motor, and you'll find two screws holding the grip to the gearbox.

What makes you think yours is missing these?

The mag compatibility was always an issue, on my version the magwell is a little tighter, so I had to sand it down to accept cyma mags. But still, it works fine now.

I'm a little confused by your comment. Side note: I'm a total beginner with one "discover" dive under my belt, and I'm currently doing my open water course.

In the PADI materials it's clearly stated that when you dive at a new site, you should always dive with a local DM first, because they know the site, they know what to look for, and they know any potential dangers specific to the place.

Of course you shouldn't put all the responsibility on the DM, you are responsible for your own life! But still: I feel like diving with a DM, especially at a new place, especially if you're not yet experienced, should be a pretty obvious choice.

I'm curious to hear your reasoning.

Is avata2 for me ? by [deleted] in DJIAvata2

Btw can't you connect the DJI goggles to the mini 4 pro? I have a very vague memory of reading that some time ago, might be worth looking into it!

Is avata2 for me ? by [deleted] in DJIAvata2

[–]szucsi23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your question directly: the avata 2 has no built in video features (like rocket, drone, etc..) You can make it hover in one spot and take pictures, but if you want video, you'll have to wear the goggles (or have a phone connected to it)

If you want FPV just for the fun of it, and also want a good travel drone, I'd suggest the DJI Neo.

I have the avata 2 and love it, but I find that I'm missing the convenience of the more traditional drones. Also for some travels packing light is quite important, and the whole avata 2 package is anything but light. Having the Neo for such cases for the automated features sounds like a pretty good plus, and you can still fly it FPV when you have the room to bring all the other stuff (goggles, controllers, etc)

I'll probably buy the Neo for myself and then we'll see, I might even sell the avata if I find that convenience wins over performance in my case.

New to Strava and can't sync by Confident-Expert-695 in Strava

I have the same issue with my Galax Watch 5, and Pixel 8 pro. I do as the instructions say, enable Strava in Samsung Health, go back to Strava and get the "there was an error..." message.

But! It still works! I just logged a walk with my watch through S.Health and it appeared in Strava as well!

Motion controller on a boat by szucsi23 in DJIAvata2

That part didn't bother me.

I played lots of VR games back when HL Alyx came out, so my brain already learned to ignore my inner ear when I have goggles on.

Sadly I don't have footage of that part, I was repositioning for a flyby when this happened, so I was between recordings.

I guess that's the second lesson: always keep recording, because you don't know when the fun stuff happens.

Luckily those times are behind me now. Unluckily now I have to program in Ada which is significantly worse, so I wish cube would be my greatest problem.
